Contact the seller through ebay then if you don't get a resolution ebay then has all the emails

Bummer. Sorry about that. When dealing with issues like this, I usually try and contact the seller and if no response or reasonable solution, then I go to eBay to have them intervene. Good luck and sorry the part wasn't up to spec.

The seller will most likely prefer to avoid getting eBay involved and affecting his/her ratings. I had an experience buying a used brake disc from a US wrecker, and the seller (steelescycle) was awesome and refunded not just the purchase price, but also the international freight. Give the seller a chance to do the right thing.

That's pretty much what I'm doing. I sent them a direct email and am going to give them a window to respond and fix it. If not then I'll have the records and can go to email. It's no big deal will just have to get it fixed and find another one!

Another question. Is there anyways the part could be fixed? I mean it was like half price of what a new one would be. Or does the crack compromise the integrity of the part? I have no idea how much strain is put on the basket. I assume a decent amount if something caused it to crack like that in the bike

I wouldn't try to fix that clutch basket; a new one is like $60 IIRC.

I would say that part got broken in a decent crash, a big impact on the clutch cover would probably do it.

Ah I see. Was just curious, I always try to learn as much as I can about how things can go wrong and if they can be fixed. I'll just order a new one while I wait for the old one to get taken care of. I price checked that part and you are right, so that's no big deal on the increase. All the other parts will be coming in soon anyways. I appreciate all the help and advice everyone has given me!

Okay all my parts should be coming in but I have one last question. I've consulted the service manual and guides but I can't seem to understand one thing. Does the thrust washer and spring washer just go together at the very back of the basket? When I pulled them out I swear there was a disc separating them before the first odd disc but now I'm not sure. The manual shows they go together and then them odd disc followed by the repeating friction disc plate order. I just don't want to get it out of order. This old post http://www.vfrdiscussion.com/index.php?/topic/68154-clutch-and-grab/, says they just go at the very back with the flat washer first and the semi curved one next. Followed by the plates. Is that right?
