Ohio Rider, checking in

Greetings!

I live in Central Ohio and make the rounds wherever the roads take me. Just getting back to riding after a 3 year hiatus to heal up from an accident and it's coming back very quickly! Two titanium joint implants in my reconstructed elbow, a little over 18 months of therapy and a lawsuit settlement later and I am feeling great about being back in the wind.

Last bike was an '84 Honda Magna V65 (VF1100) which I lovingly rebuilt the top end on. (port, polish, valves, jetted carbs, straight pipes) She didn't survive the accident, so now that I can ride again I wanted a newer generation Honda VF engine for my new bike. Picked up an '09 VFR800 with only 4700 miles on the clock on a Friday and put over 400 miles on her by Sunday. (yeah, I have done that in less than a day before, but my core strength needs built back up!)

Previously I rode 365 for many years, though now I am thinking I will be a slightly more fair-weather rider. (more laziness than anything) I also made some promises to family regarding my previous lack of safety equipment as they did not think that Oakleys counted as gear so I now wear helmet/jacket/boots at a minimum. Also, I should definitely not have survived that last accident and I don't intend to limit my riding style, so probably a good compromise on pressing my luck in the future...

Great site you have here. Looking forward to reading up on some of the fun things you guys and gals do to/with your bikes and seeing you out on the road. Keep the rubber side down and the shiny side up!

What a bummer that your classic ride got totaled. I am glad that you are doing well though!

Welcome aboard! One of my good riding buddies is from OH!!

My first street motorcycle was a '82 Honda Magna V45 that I rebuild to showroom condition. Good taste in bikes, friend!
