Doubled edged sword of sorts, I was @ the Dragon a year ago in my cage & went through @ a pretty good clip for never being on the road before.(anywhere from 10-20 over posted limit w/ tires lightly protesting around nearly every curve) I had bikes riding my bumper; when I did decide to pull off I couldn't slow down because they where to close & ended up almost sliding into a tree when the brakes locked in the gravel, beleive that was @ Parson's Curve where the gated trail leads up onto the woods.
*****WARNING***** OFF SUBJECT**** I know alot of you guys come from out of state to hit the Dragon, and I love it too but I hope you got to ride the Cherohala Skyway as well, it is one of my favorite roads in that area. It runs off 129 in Robbinsville just south of Dragonland. Okay back on subject--- I love cagers on cell phones, especially when I'm driving emergency in a fire engine, we like to play a game with the air horn. You try to blow the horn as close to the persons head as possible, if they drop the phone and actually start paying attention to their driving again you win. You'd be amazed how many people's reaction to a siren while they are on their important cell phone conversation is to attempt to cradle the phone with their shoulder and to use one hand to roll up an open window and the other to plug their other ear. Now lets count everybody, that leaves how many hands for steering the vehicle to the side of the roadway and stopping?
I took an entire day of my honeymoon & just drove around, hit the dragon, cherohala & a lot of other good roads. Sadly, in a cage but still great roads; next time down will be on a bike.
Onesided: I like that game! Play it well and play it hard! Yeah, the cager that pulls out in front of you, when no one is behind you for miles, then does 10 miles under the speed limit is not unique to one area. They are like zombies...and the infection has spread! Make sure you aim for the head! BZ
