He has obviously done something for Honda. Dani is very Japanese in how he conducts himself, I'm sure that is deeply respected by his Japanese bosses. Japanese companies take care of their own. Randy Mamola never won a championship either, but yet he is still one of the most respected people in the paddock.

 

FYI, if you read the article I linked, the Iannone component is speculation. While it is assumed Vinales signed with Yamaha, and it's supposed to be announced on Thursday (so we'll see), as Norcal Boy pointed out, it hasn't been announced by either team yet... It will be interesting...

Here's a weird question:

In Moto2, the front fender completely encloses the fork bottoms, and sometimes the caliper. This is not true in Moto3 and MotoGP. Is there some reason for this?

 

Yes there is. So, it is very complicated, so I'll try to keep it at a laymen level; because the Moto2 brakes and forks are spec, there is an issue of aerodynamics and thermodynamics which are modifiable by the teams, which allow for a difference in both the heat dissipation of the discs and hub, as well as a possible airflow affect which is achieved by the different front fender designs...

Moto 2 even with the restart and short race was excellent. To bad about Rossi's engine, would have been a good 3 way battle but JL and MM did have a nice scrap.
