So far I've added the helibars to the bike, but when doing this I noticed the fronts are what appears lowered some from previous owner.....I really enjoy the more upright riding position, but kinda wish it was just slightly more.....just a tad....I'm still putting pressure on my wrist on long rides....

Need to figure out which peg setup would benefit me now, since adding the helibars I noticed my leg angle seems more now....

Also still researching on wind screens, debating between touring and double bubble, read a lot of buffeting reviews with the touring version that kinda worries me....

Pull those bars up flush that will gain you some. Switching to a Sargeant seat on mine with the bars and a Zero Gravity ST (sport touring) screen made it feel like a different bike!!

Pull the bars up or the triple? The bars are pulled all the way up to the little clip....

I'm curious if the rear has a built in ability to be lowered some... because honestly I would like for the whole bike to be lowered about an inch...

Toss the clip and bring the bars up. I've run mine for probably 10 years like that as have others. Pulling the forks up in the triple lowers the front...not good for what you want to do.

Note that the stock height of the fork tube above the top triple clamp is 41mm. The measurement is taken to the top of the actual tube, not the preload adjuster. Take a look at your rear suspension triangles and see if the writing on the side of them is right side up and the arrow on the plate points forward. If it is, then the rear is in stock condition. If it is not in the orientation mentioned or if they are not stock Honda triangles, then most likely the bike was lowered. Nothing wrong with lowering as long as you know the potential consequences of it. i.e. Hard to put bike on the center stand, little to no lean angle when on the side stand, likely to scrape when leaned over, potential of bottoming out against something when the suspension compresses completely. Although there are many here who have done this, they would be more in a position to comment if these concerns are even an issue.

Raising the forks in the clamps actually helps these bikes.

Have you taken all the preload out of the rear shock?

So i made the purchase on the windscreen today, i ordered a Zero Gravity Sport Touring Smoked screen, almost bought it on revzilla when a google add on revzilla page said it was onsale at amazon for $76.88, so i went ahead and ordered it.. now to figure out the pegs.. and do some more research on the lowering portion of the bike, not sure if the front forks being lowered about an inch is going with me or against me in my quest for more comfortable riding...

ok so i have been reading on the pegs, it seems there are a few part numbers being thrown around, which is the correct or better option?

P# N0006.1AD (Set of 2 pegs) $30.36 from Harley that is from XB model bike...
or... here is the numbers for them separately.. N0520.1AD and N0521.1AD

p# N0502.1AK and N0503.1AK $60.00 from Harley that is from the Ulyss bike

I did find this thread on the XB pegs listed above, but all the threads for the Ulyss pegs seem to be broken links to anything on vfrdiscussion site... i really didnt find much on this site doing a search...

so i went ahead and ordered the N0006.1AD kit after reading that they are a nicer quality peg over the Ulyss version once you grind the top down just a tad...

So i got the windscreen in finally yesterday and while installing it i went ahead and raised the bars some more.. i am not sure if i really like the new windscreen, yes it takes the air away from my upper chest compared to before, but now the baffling sound im getting in my helmet is just really annoying.. i thought maybe it was the fact i just bought a new helmet, but i took a ride today with my old helmet and it was just as loud, with the old windscreen the helmet had very minimal wind noise..

I also bought a new helmet, but i am not completely sold on it yet.. the buckle system is already getting on my nerves and the chin foam pad snaps off so easily, its hard to not knock it off when feeling for the button to lift the helmet up since its modular.. the paint finish is just absolutely beautiful tho....

I am still waiting on the footpegs to come in that i ordered, i sure hope they go well with the new bar position... i am really not satisfied fully with the helibars, yes they improve the riding position for me a lot since i am very long upper body, but im starting to miss my old FJ09 i had before it was stolen..

You can raise your Heli bars above the top of the fork caps and still have plenty of clamping power. I ran mine up so the top tightening bolt is just above the cap top. Did this over a year ago. I wouldn't go any higher though.
Plus my forks are raised up through the triple clamp about 6mm more than stock.

So yesterday (Saturday) my new pegs came in the mail finally, i decided to throw them on the bike this morning before going on a charity ride for autism awareness today.. so here they are.. was only about 20mins to install them taking my time, i didn't adjust anything as when i sat on the bike it seemed still ok.. i have the tools on the bike to make any adjustments if they are needed once i get riding.. so just throwing this up before i take off..
