5th gen front linked brake action on the left caliber is make a clunk noise especially after a good stop. Was wondering if any one else with a 5th gen has had this come up? and if so what was it that was making it? r I can replicate the noise just by working the caliber back and forth by hand. Kinda odd as it didn't do this before I had taken it all apart for the fork up grade, so wondering If I missed something in the reinstall, brakes work fine, just a clunk now, weird...can't get my finger on it.

A follow up, after a bit off looking this left caliber action over a bit more, seems the clunk is coming from the rear master cylinder actuator. Pulling it back and forth by hand it has like a metal to metal clunk or is it clank? it's coming from what looks like the yoke pin off the fork leg going into the master where it goes into a rubber boot. I take it that that rod pushes on a plunger mechanism, instead of keeping a bit of pressure like in a touch there on the actual plunger, there's a slight gap is my thinking where it's allowed to move more, then of coarse there would be a tap tap of some sort. Meaning after the brakes are let off it goes clunky clank. it's not bad, but now that I know it's there, it'll drive me buggy until I figure it out "IF" . Then also find through the process off looking this over the left caliber is not so firm it it's mounting, bolts are tight as tight should be, must be a flex thing built in to this, but the right side doesn't wiggle and I can wiggle this left one a bit, so the whole left is BS on the lose side. again weird. It's looking like it's going to be sooner than later on the de-link project.

    Hello RVFR

I serviced my forks (new seals and oil)
The whole brake system I flushed with new brake fluid ,I did not pull it apart as you said you did .
But I have no trouble with the brakes .

As it is a bit of complicated procedure to bleed the brakes could there be still a air bubble in your system, somewhere between the pcv and left front and rear brake .
That is a really hard area to bleed the brake especially if you have to bleed from scratch .

Any way ,hope you work it out

The inner spring inside the secondary master cylinder should keep the piston against the push rod.
At least that how it was on mine before the delink.
Maybe some crud is keeping the piston from moving all the way forward.

Thanks guys, Yea Oz after a re read of chapter 15 (whew) in the shop Manual I see that spring you are talking about. being if the boot which here looks good, but the bike is 17 years old that and maybe water / corrosion got down in there there and is doing what you say it's my thought too. I'll be going in there to check that out, Yes too to the bleed, in that in it's self wow! Honda just what where you guys thinking, SMH, there's a whole section on the bleed process and what to look out for, smh again, that's reason enough right there to ditch this system. But all things being the brakes as I know them are working, just this pesty clink clank thing now.
