Hello all, glad to be a new member here, been reading alot in here while i was educating myself before buying a 6th gen VFR800. Pulled the trigger on a private sale thursday night. Silver 2005 non-abs model that came with the oem rear carriers and hard cases, has 32000kms on the clock. Here she is all cleaned up...

Nice bike Jeff, i prefer the black wheels like you have..very sharp. And the vfr decal on your front/side fairing? Were they only applied some years/models? Ive looked all over the online fisches and cant find an oem one?

 

I think the decals did change slightly over the years ... mine is a 2002. My black 2002 that got written off had the same decals. I'm guessing it came on the earlier 6th gens based on this.

As for the black wheels, I was actually thinking of getting them powder coated to something slightly lighter in color. Not nearly as light as yours, but like a gun metal colour.

Hrm, similar or same decal? Can't tell with the cartoon graphic version.

 

Could be a Canadian model thing?

I know the EU model has really nice chrome looking ones.

That is a US store, showing a US spec bike. BTW, your new bike is a US spec...only the US models have the "Interceptor" decal on the back. The rest of the planet has the VFR decal/badge.

Funy thing is my 02 that I bought in Tahoe has no decals except on the tank of course. 1800 miles...wierd huh?

Welcome Grez and stay awhile. Lots of great info and people on here. I go to Icehouse usually on the RD350LC to fit in with the period. So many great bikes from the '70's and '80's there. Have fun on that sweet VFR.
