vfr 800 fi 2000 downpipes with cat

    hi new to the group and the vfr also

    ive a small leak in the rear downpipes and thinking of changing the system

    mine is a 2000 fi with the two sensors and the cat


    seen a good few on ebay
    the ones in the us are in great supply and good condition

    a lot for the vtec later model

    are the dowmpipes interchangeable they look very similar

    i know the end can is different


    sorry if its a stupid question

    The pipes are interchangeable from 1998 to 2009. Most people try to get their hands on 98 or 99 headers since the cat is missing and the tubing is a tad larger (just make sure you get the upper rear pipes as well). if you go that route, you'll have to get a Power Commander with the O2 sensor eliminators, or get 2 sensor bungs welded in. I believe from 2002 and up, they were made from stainless steel from the factory, while before was just mild steel.

    yes thats what im thinking

    i want to stay fairly stock and go with the sensors

    including shipping the us downpipes secondhand are around £100

    they look exactly the same as my own

    i was afraid the heads might be different seeing as they have the vtech cams

    and my version of down pipe was only in production for 3 years
