Interesting. I'm 6', stock seat and clip-ons with a newly acquired factory euro screen. Personally I have never like anything other than stock screen, it works just fine. I look at it as I'm on a motorcycle, not a car. I compare the noise level equal to a convertible with the top down. On short outings I normally don't wear ear plugs , when I know I'm going more than 50 miles and speed may be in play, yes. Myself I'm not so much about the noise it's more than ok considering, it's the buffeting that bugs me now and then, like Semi's, RVs Service Van, etc. that throw a good turbulent wake of air. On the open road it's fine. I don't believe there is really any way around it. for noise it is what it is. but for me FWIW the stock screen works for me. just saying.

I'm 5'9" and using an OEM screen on a 2014 8th Gen. I have some back, neck, shoulder and wrist issues so I appreciate how awkward it can be, but I'm getting by without risers, just. My thoracic spine is a bit stiff and so is my neck and sacroiliac region, but I can still get enough arch in my lumber spine to get down to the bars and while I can't get right down on the tank, I can get low enough that the OEM screen works quite well for me. I guess it depends on your individual mobility issues but if the bike came with the risers and you didn't fit them yourself out of necessity, perhaps consider taking them out of the equation as that might see you a little lower on the bike and the air flow over the screen hitting you that bit higher. Just another option to consider.

Oh, i did indeed fit the risers. My back, neck and wrists all thanked me. I want to go higher, too.

You can just about see them. An older photo, but the risers are there. Doesn't show all the other bits, but hey...
