    Heyo,

New VFR owner in Phoenix, AZ. Picked up a 2014 zero mile bike in Tucson yesterday, that had been dropped in the showroom, and discounted. Just a few dings and nicks, no biggie to me.
Before that, I had a salvage/rebuilt Triumph Daytona that I had a) grown fed up with electronic issues, b) realized I don't need to be hurting my back if I don't have to. The bike was heavily commuter modded already:
Morimoto bi-xenons, heated grips, personally re-foamed and re-covered, 3d mesh topped seats (because Phoenix), dual sport cushy grips, and of course, my ghettofabulous homemade trunk. Buyer didn't take the trunk, so it's only a matter of time before it goes on Sally. Don't have any good pics of the new bike, as it is still covered in bugs from the ride home yesterday. Hoping to get 100k miles out of this biznitch, before it even thinks about dying on me.

Oh speaking of, one of the Daytona's gremlins was also the shunt R/R. I replaced it with Mosfet. I believe I saw the r/r hiding in the upper right of this bike as well. Why in the world the manufacturers run the high current wires all the way through the harness up there, and back to the battery is lost on me. Anyone know with certainty if Honda has started using Mosfet on the 8th gens? Eventually I'll get all the plastics off, but not today, junior. Also, very likely going to go ahead and ditch the harness in favor of an undertail mount, with some metri-pack connectors.

Let's see, oh the break-in. No need to turn this into an oil thread, but I am curious what you guys think about hitting high revs to activate the other valves? I know it's all about the rings, but I'd like to know my other valves are at least lined up and seating before I do my oil change. I'm not a hard break-in guy. But I might need to get a little harder... heh.

Pics of Shirley to hold you over until Sally is cleaned up for the camera. Even with China plastics, she's gorgeous. le sigh. Here's to falling in love with another mistress!:drinkers:

One more thing, @mello dude , I finally got a VFR. I'm the guy you helped replace his swingarm on the R6.

Welcome sparky! I think you'll really like your new viffer and have no problem on getting to 100k. As for the break-in, I'm in the camp of break it in like you're gonna be riding it. Engines are test ran at the factory and are taken to higher rpm ranges so I don't think it's too big of a deal in today's world. I would caution not to keep it at constant throttle for any length of time until you pass the break in period.
    Enjoy!

Wow, now there's the correct way of saying hello, ;) I like those 675s and I've been actually staring at a friends 675 he doesn't ride, I might just might be able to get it away from him, but now you throw out your gremlins Hmmm?? That said welcome to the wacky world of owning a VFR, I think you'll fit in nicely if you have all ready been worked over by Mello......
