Pull the sump.
Check pickup screen.
Strip and examine oil pump.

I know it is a pain in the arse to do these things but screen and pump should be one of the first things done when low oil pressure is suspected.

Here's a video after I installed the new oil pressure switch and oil and filter. I had to add a little more oil after a few minutes.

Now if you look at the oil window level, you can see that the oil now is being pumped through as it drops from the top line down.

Thx, I only did the switch cause I had a new one and wanted to check the wire. I knew it was going to be a pain. I am planning on checking the screen and the relief valve. At this moment, it looks like its good. The moment the light comes on again, the pan is dropping and pulling out the oil pump and screen. One thing I don't have o worry about for sure is that the oil pressure switch is new.

20160213_165925.jpg Thx, you are absolutely right I should have done that first. What happen was I wanted to get a better reading from the oil pressure gauge from the switch, only to find out that it was impossible. Since I was there, I went ahead and changed the oil pressure switch. I was then going to drop the pan, but the light went off and everything seems back to normal. I hope, but if anyone else has these symptoms that would be the first thing to do. Also there is no way of checking the oil pressure from where the oil switch is. I also would recommend to get the actual Honda attachment for a true reading. Tomorrow I will test ride it and check the oil.

You still should drop the sump before riding it.
You just don't know why the light was on and the only factual evidence you have it a measured low oil pressure.

Manny, why was the oil so dirty? It sounds like you had just changed it right after the low oil pressure warning light issue began.

Was it coolant in the oil somehow?

I was wondering that as well as he mentioned that coolant went everywhere when he pulled the thermostat housing, I just didn't know how coolant would get in to the sump that way, and if it did
I thought that the oil would look milky after the engine ran. Maybe that was milky and not dirty in his picture, didn't look good in any case. Hopefully his bearings are not shot, it would be a shame on a bike with such low miles.

John, that is correct. I was wondering the same thing when I changed it. It looked like some coolant had gone in there. Not sure if it was from when I disconnected the hoses. Not sure. I took the bike for a spin around the block, lightly just to check to see if the light would come back on. Bike felt great, nothing weird, parked it at let it warm up since I had to fill the radiator back from the coolant that came out. I let it idle to see if the radiator fan kicked in so it can circulate and nothing. Now I am wondering if I accidently disconnected something.

Thx, it sure does look like it, but if you remember in the first video the oil in the window looked clean. Only after I changed the switch and some how after the bike warmed up and pressure build up, the light went off and everything was good. When I checked the oil window it looked like what you see in the picture. I changed the oil and filter and now after a spin around the block, nothing hard, just a cruise I parked it and let it idle. I waited for the fan to kick in and it never came on. I waited till about 230f. I am still going to drop the pan and check the strainer and inspect the pump. I bought a new relief valve so I am just going to install it. Thx have you dropped the pan before? Did you have to remove the headers completely? Or were you able to loosen them up and push them down a bit? Overall the bike ran fine, but I think I heard a vacuum leak somewhere, maybe a hose I forgot to connect. I will have to check that out as well. I should have changed the thermostat while I was there.

Sorry been busy with work have not been able to work on the bike. I did however burp the coolant system and now the radiator fan kicks in. The light has not come back on. I do want to drop the pan to check the screen or the valve relief. I may just take it to get the oil pressure checked. I am questioning the sandwich plate that I used. I also wanted to check the oil pressure switch that I removed to see if it is damaged or not working. I am finally getting a few days off and no rain, so hopefully I get something done. The only thing I have done was change oil and filter twice and changed the oil pressure switch and that eliminated the light on issue. However, I need to check other things to rule anything else out. Specifically the oil pressure.
