I think we were both asleep before our heads hit the pillow. No "icing" on the "cake" I guess.

I feel almost accomplished today even though I called out of work and basically did nothing. The little I did do was disconnect my PC3 and connect up my PC2 for ignition control capabilities. I'm leaving the PC3 in there for now until i get the PC2 mapped up and convinced I like it more, I don't have a serial cable at the moment so I can't upload a map yet. Also topped up the coolant since it was looking a little low.

Will you remind me of your bike year? Better yet add it to your profile for us!

I will be curious about your timing experiments!

Whoops, forgot to add that. It's a 98. Once I get that cable I'll be able to play around, it was such a let down getting that far only to be hindered by a cable.

I honestly almost never use the horn except for polite toots for people texting at red lights, so we'll see how it goes... This thread always reminds me what i've been meaning to do. I need to amazon prime a voltmeter to install before i get it all back together :p

Which one is that? I've got a chinese one coming this weekend to install while i've got things apart, will see how bad it is for 10 bucks. Will power the new horn, voltmeter, and a usb port off a relay that kicks on when the lights turn on...

While i'm waiting on that stuff i went ahead and synced my carbs. I've never done it before and had a blast. This thread is a huge help, the right angle screw driver made it eaasssssyyyy: http://vfrworld.com/forums/showthread.php/15244-750-91-97-Carb-Balance-Guide

Instead of a carb tune i made one of these though: http://v4musclebike.com/articles/magnandy/Andy's Manometer and Carb Synch.pdf

First time i've used the ironing board in years. I guess you could say i ironed the syncs out...

You know I do believe that is the first time I have seen an ironing board used on a motorcycle forum. Nice work.

I replaced my clutch yesterday and I installed a Powerlet power port in my center cap. The kit came from the guy who sells the VFRness. I've heard people complain about the ground wire being too short and at first I thought it was too. I then undid the bolt that holds the left brake hose bracket and it was a perfect fit and it works great. IMG_20160422_083714236.jpg

I'm installing a PowerCommander this morning.

Replaced the broken switch on the front brake lever. :)

Found the switch had failed sometime during a ride yesterday meaning the brake light was continuously lit.

Thankfully its an item the local dealer always has in stock, so I managed to get it fixed and safely back in the garage well before lunchtime when the next band of heavy rain arrived and is now threatening to wash out most of the weekend motorbiking events. The Alps may see a short break on Sunday afternoon allowing me to head over to the 2016 Spadino Memorial Event in Courmeyer, but sadly it won't last long with temperatures forecast to plummet on Sunday night bringing fresh snow over Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

I have officially had enough of this winter weather now thanks - roll on summer please!

Today, I gave my bike it's annual spring oil and filter change ... Wix filter and Shell Advance Ultra 4T full synthetic oil (10w40).

Anyways, I figured while I was into it, I'd go ahead and do the clutch fluid - when I got the bike at the end of last year, I already knew I was going to have to do it. I just didn't know how BAD it needed it until now ... I also started into the brake fluid as well since it too was dark (not nearly as bad as the clutch fluid) and really need to be replaced badly.

Problem is that I'll have to finish tomorrow. The fluid was so bad in both that I blew through an entire container (the smaller kind) flushing the system out and I'm still not quite done. I still have to finish the proportional valves.

Some photos of the nasty ...

Today I returned home from the first long trip on the VFR. I wasn't planning to go so far and was by myself, but I just kept riding. New tires (PR4s), spring service, and talking about the southeast had me itching to go. I'll post a ride report soon. One of the best pics: 20160424_141659.jpg

Well i immobilized the gf's car in front of the garage door so my bikes are stuck for now, figured i might as well tear things apart and wire the 96 up a little prettier. Now i'm on the hunt for a front fairing sub frame, i knew my body work was a little crooked, but had no idea how bent up this thing was...

I've got a line on a local parts bike, if only the guy would get back to me i could get started. There are a couple on ebay, but the pics aren't great and the cash would go quite a ways towards getting a parts bike i think :p

I could have used that on my 01 on Saturday! Went up to the Glendora area and there was a slew of bicyclist taking up the road. Most were riding side by side and taking up a good portion of the lane!

Wulf, hope you get over the cyclist fetish after the first day :stung:, and glad you're not in my town. I put 13km/yr on the VFR, but 8K on my bicycles, and an air horn up close is serious shit to a cyclist. Think of it like a semi-truck air horn surprising you on the VFR. At the same time I fully admit 5% of cyclists are idiots and some deserve a wake-up call (just as 5% of cagers), but please be careful with your new-found power.
