Barber Motorsports Park museum expansion

For those of you who might be fans of Barber Motorsports Park, here is a video that showed up on my facebook page about the expansion to the museum. Hard to believe, but they say they actually have more bikes in storage than they currently have on display.

Wouldn't it be grand to have the deep pockets so one was able to have something as cool as this.

 

Indeed. Thankfully, Mr. Barber has the deep pockets AND a willingness to let us come look at his toys. To me this place is just mind boggling. I don't know where they find all those bikes, but many of the ones I've looked at on the floor have 0 miles on the odometer. Maybe they roll them back in restorations, but I really don't think so.

 

And part of the cool factor is that supposedly all of them are capable of being fired up on short notice.

 

I was there last June. The whole race track is just super neat and clean. Glad they are getting it done. I read an article that they wanted to put the addition on the other side of the track with a walkway in between. The problem was it would cost just over a million dollars to build a road from the other end of the track to the museum. Too much.

Now it'll take 2 to 3 days to go thru. Such problems.....................

 

Be careful what you say. SOW may show up there and want to ride one. YIKES>>

 

I'm not sure what the plans are, but I know that they have already built a walkway from the museum across to the infield section directly across the track. I just hope that someday they can get WSBK or MotoGP to come race there.
