    I would bet that is a tank breather hose. Look under gas tank for overflow port.

    tHE diameter seems too large but it probably hooks up to the radiator overflow tank.

    The routing is very strange, and so is the hose protector. He's in CA, I bet it is associated with emissions and it is going to the charcoal canister.

    Let us know where hoses go at the other end. There appears to be a 'T' with one going down and one going up. More than likely down to the canister.

    I ended up unplugging the whole hose. It went to breather box and then connected to a t outlet that just went to bottom of bike as like some kind of drain. Bikes runs fine without it
