At the risk of invoking the ire of the Canadian folk, is anyone one here looking forward to upcoming playoffs?

No Canajun teams but tonnes of Canajun flatheads playing.
We will take corporate American money to play hockey.

I like hockey too (lived in Toronto for 12 years), but living in the East Bay the Warriors are on the verge of NBA history after tying the record of 72 wins. Final game tomorrow night at Oracle Arena, court side seats (if you can get them) are $17,000!

Basketball is a sport I just never learned to like. To me, there is no better excitement in sports than the Stanley Cup Playoffs. (Except for maybe Alabama football...)

Damnnn, thats a pricey seat! I'm a San Jose fan since I went to the states as a kid and figured the Sharks were about as Australian as Hockey can get. I'm just hoping we don't choke to LA (again) as I really really really hate the Kings. (Ducks too)
If the Flyers can get past the Caps it wouldn't surprise me if they went deep although I've got my money on Florida/Washington in the East
West is wide open, be nice to see someone other than Chicago make it to the final

The best hockey I remember in Toronto was the Russian/Canada series, that was exciting. My kids played house league and select hockey all through grade school, then we moved to California. Tried to keep it up out here, but rinks were few and far between and very expensive. The oldest, (46), still plays once a week, 6-4 280lbs!, plus his oldest son and daughter too! Stanley Cup is always exciting, but watching Stephen Curry and company going for their 73rd season win will be historic.

Agreed, Wulf. Getting past the Caps will be a hard row to hoe, but if the Flyers can do it, they can play with anyone. Pittsburgh has been hot the last couple weeks, so I think that will be a tough series. I would love to see the Sharks go deep past the Kings and Ducks, but I will pull for anyone who can send the hated Blackhawks back to the golf course.

You raise em big Allyance. Rinks are pretty scarce over here too, that's why I play lacrosse instead of Hockey. Golden State should have it in the bag if Curry stays in form.
I'm surprised to see the Pens surge so much given their crappy start but I suppose the same thing could be said about Anaheim. The Flyers should get Simmonds to lay out Ovi early on in the series. Really give the east a reason to hate you

As much as I like Ovechkin, I'm hoping the Flyers can get past them.

Islander fan here...already accepted the fact we're not going to do well...silver lining is that we got Florida, so good chances to get into the second round

It is a sport that features an occasional brawl. It's what keeps players from "dabbing" after a goal is scored...:black_eyed:

I know, I know, this is a hockey thread, but the Warriors just won their 73rd game! NBA history, Stephen Curry made 10 3 pt shots, for another NBA record of 402 3 pt shots in a season!

The Hanson Brothers made an appearance at a Huntsville Havoc game earlier this year for an "exhibition" game with the local Pee Wee league. What a great movie that is!
