Wow, talk about a small world. I spoke with a client this afternoon and he apologized that he didn't get back to me on Friday as he went to Austin, TX for the weekend. Jokingly, I said, "Did you go to the MotoGP race?" He said, "Yeah!, a friend of mine works for Zero Gravity batteries and I went to work the booth with him" Although he doesn't follow the racing scene, he said he did have a good time.

As good as Hayes & company have been on the Yamahas the last couple years, I was kid of surprised to see the Suzukis pull away from them the way they did. Also, is it just me or did Hayden look none too happy that "new guy" Elias jumps on the bike cold and outperforms everyone?

No he was holding back his disappointment fer sure, but had to put that positive face on. ....dam new guy just part time cleans up both races. But then again, this guy ain't know rookie, raced motogp, champion in motogp2. They said if Elias keeps it up, they may have to get a bigger budget for a three bike team.
Loved when they asked Hayes about following Elias, he was blown away and probably a little worried about this guys talent and abilities.
Wait till the new GSX comes out next year

I know Elias ain't a rookie for sure. That season in Moto2 a few years back, he was nothing short of dominant. I think if he could have gotten a better bike in MotoGP, he would have done much better. I think it goes to show that the level of talent here in the states is not quite on par with the rest of the moto racing world. Hopefully MotoAmerica will be able to build the grid sizes and help to groom some young riders for the world stage.

    Absolutely, straight to MOTOGP2.
All the old (80's+90's) Americans where from flat track racing mostly, what about all these new riders, where are there roots from?

JL, Rossi, Pedro, Crutchlow and many more. Michelin? All have lost the front.

If you look at Rossi's crash, it appears that the tire folds over right as he crashes. From what most of the riders have been saying, is that the front gives way without warning. It sounds like it provides less feedback than Bridgestone. Michelin seems to be on top of it though, responding to rider input and looking into issues really quick.

Yes Rossi was a typical low side lost front crash. The feel is not yet there with the tires. MM seems to have been able to find that very fine line the most. He has crashed with the front a bunch of times in practice. That is the time you want to find the limit, not in a race! lol

I think MM runs 100% all the time until he finds the limit. Based on this post and the fact that he made his fastest lap after the crash, I think he's learns pretty quickly...

Mamola got to race 2 of the craziest bikes, with Honda and Yamaha. One was the bike mentioned in Echo's article, the NSR 500. YZR's were insane too.
