50 State lane splitting petition

Signed...I split about 8 miles of dead stopped traffic this morning due to an accident. If I were in my car, I probably would have pulled over and had the business end of a shotgun for breakfast...

 

Do that on a daily basis. .there's no way I'm goin to become the meat in a sandwich because the 19 yr old is texting and applying make up, plus sucking fumes....not.

This could get more folks on bikes. It could be problematic somewhere in the future if the remaining cagers started to lane split.

I'm all for this except for Harleys. They should just split.

CA generally has very wide freeways. Not all and not all in other states as well. Pasadena Freeway? There are places on I-90 in Washington where in Summer semis are hauling ass at 90mph and the "freeway" is two lanes downhill.

Great Idea and I am going to sign up. A better petition IMO, would be a nationwide ban on use of cell devices whilst driving with some serious consequences attached.

 

I totally get where you are coming from, as this is a Federal Issue and infringes upon State's Rights. That part of it I don't like. Maybe if it could apply to the Federal Highway System, then the other 49 states would be more willing to adopt it. I am speaking from the point of view of not knowing how much of the interstates are run by the states and how much is run by the Feds.

On a lighter note, this commercial, while being very funny, has a very important statistic at the end in support of the purpose of this thread.
