    Hello,
I'm considering to get one of these models as my next bike,
I have a few options but there's this specific one nearby that's pretty interesting (and a little bit suspicious).

It's a 1990 vfr750 with only 38k km on it (24k miles), and in excelent conditions apparently, going for 1500€ (1600$)

Can you tell me if there are any differences between the models of the years 1990-1993? (the other models I'm looking at are in this range)
I've been able to find only minor things like paint schemes and the like.

I doubt the owner would let me take off the fairings to get a good look at it, so could you tell me about common problems I should be looking for?
I've been told to check the "hooks" of the fairing can be damaged if the bike has taken any fall,
and is there a way to check for electrical problems without taking apart the bike?

Also do you know if it's possible to mount a led light on the single headlight models?

    Thank you very much

You can (and should) check the charging system output (at about 5000 rpms) across the battery terminals, where anything between about 13.5 to 14.5 dc volts is good.

most problems on our bikes are electrical. :uncomfortableness:

I've never seen a 3rd Gen with single headlight before, can you post a courtesy picture please?

I'm sure you can put an LED headlight in it, so long as it is the correct application.

Here's a couple of pics from the bikes I'm looking at,
the one I was talking about in the OP doesn't have a clear view of the front but it looks really good so I'm going to post it anyway.

Thanks for posting the pic. It is very interesting seeing the 3rd gen with the single headlight look straight from the factory. Technically all 3rd Gens have a single headlight assembly like the pic you posted but as you already know the U.S. model had the small plastic T shaped fairing piece that runs down the center that makes it look like two separate units. Same thing with the 4th Gen.
