    Hi All
I am of course new to this site and relatively new to my RC36.
I have always loved the sound of the V4 Honda, and the RC30 sits at the top of my Bike Mecca Tree.
After some years away from bikes I decided that I was going to pick up an honest but cheap VFR750 and see how I would get on!
I bought through the best Known auction site a bike that looked like it had high miles, and needed some TLC.
What I ended up buying was an old race/track bike that had been returned to the road with tatty fairings and lights.
It had been in the same family for eight years and started on the button, with no rattles or grinds.
It has a few jobs to do, but at the price I expect some spanner time.
I love the bike and have been told that the bike has had an engine build when it was made into the track bike and had work done to the pistons, catbs and cams.
Anyway the plan is to lose the bad plastics and DIY paint job and fit CBR1000RR fairings and seat.
No doubts with a front end/ fork swop as well.
I may be mad, but think they are a wonderful bike and I have already fallen in love with her. Its nice not to have to ring its neck to get going and the mid-range is immense!
Glad to have joined the site and looking forward to sharing the knowledge and my own experiences :congratulatory:

Welcome! It is good to have you here. Everyone here seems to love that 8-spoke wheel.

It would be great if possible to update the fairing swap. The Chinese made replacement fairings are not top rated for the most part. OEM fairing parts for the older VFR750s are hard to come by. Sounds like quite a project..

Looking forward to a challenge, helped along by acquiring a sound ex-race fairing and seat unit. Just collected a street CBR1000RR subframe, so will see how it looks and of course starting a thread.... Gulp !

Cheers. Yes I like the white colour scheme too. May just add a splash of something. Race fairing is currently black, with some white and West as main sponsor on, which looks kinda cool....?#

^ LOL, Dude he ain't going to sell the rear wheel. Nice, I like that white version, Honda got smart with the new one bringing white back into the mix. Yea that rear wheel is the bomb, could even get $500 for it I bet ;) Bike looks pretty sweet as it is photo wise, but as you know ebay can be your friend here. When you say engine work, cams, pistons? Hmm be interesting to see what that was about. any dyno numbers? if they did those mods, Carbs where massaged I bet. is that a full system exhaust? Welcome to the fun house, yea you did good, I wouldn't beat yourself up to bad.

The PO told me that its supposed to be close to 120bhp??? Think he said 116! Its got motad ss down pipes and the Remus GP can.
Without an engine split I couldn't confirm what has been done, I know it pulls hard and smooth, with no flat spots and is very responsive on the throttle, but that's only my opinion really. I haven't looked at air filter yet either. Just looked on eBay and didn't see one of those rear wheels after the comment.
What makes them so special? Rare??
The PO took it around Austria and it didn't miss a beat  during 2,500mile trip.
Very different to my last bike (vtr1000 firestorm).

Tell ya what, you are off on a great start. Yes those 8 spoke rims are kinda the rim to have, as there are not many around and getting fewer every year. Besides looking better. A few years back you could pick em up for a song, and they could be found. now if you're lucky to find one they are getting good pesos for em, I hope you mean different as a good thing ;)
