I am moving from East TN to San Antonio Tx end of month

Should I go to distilled water and 20% or so antifreeze?

If it were me I'd be looking at Water Wetter and distilled water. From what I've read it does a good job of cooling things down. And if you're not going to be leaving the bike in freezing weather there shouldn't be a problem.

NO don't do that. Yes WW can be used with antifreeze but is not recommended be the company. I had problems in the past and spoke to WW techs. Said WW will extract more heat and the glycol antifreeze will retain it. My car ran hotter. That was my experience.

Got rid of the antifreeze and the motor ran cooler. I don't use antifreeze in my bike or play car at all. Also my garage stays above 32* in winter so no freezing there. People think you need antifreeze to stay cool. Nope not at all. It keeps the water from freezing and will raise the boiling point which is basically a moot point.

I use a rust inhibitor/water pump lubricant with distilled water and WW. Has worked great for years. If I store my car else where I'll drain the rad of WW and keep it and add antifreeze just for storage. Which I keep also for next year.

I think you interpreted Water Wetter and distilled water at a 50/50 mix? to mean
    water wetter + 50% water + 50% antifreeze. Am I right?

I think he is suggesting mixing water wetter and distilled water at 50/50.

I'd drain, fill with distilled water, run the engine, drain, and then refill.

I'd check with Water Wetter and see what their recommended ratio is and go from there. I think you can buy the stuff pre-mixed but it prolly cost a stupid amount.

    Donnerwetter!

Dudes that run antifreeze should be very careful in disposing of same. It can contain both ethylene and propylene glycol. Both taste swell. One will kill your dog and the other is in all sorts of munchies. Which is which? RTFM..

I've read that all antifreeze sold today contains bittering agents so that no creature would want to drink it.

This could be true.. Then again, you may have antifreeze confused with Budweiser..;)

Worth a lookup in any case..

Looks like it's a compliance thing as in an act rather than a law. 100 pesos says the lobbys are in this for the long haul.

Get the WW concentrate, it lists on the bottle how many OZ to add to the distilled water. Cheaper than the pre mix. WW does work when used with just distilled water. I have ran it in track bikes for a long time and when your at the limiter every lap for 20 min the motor is working hard and WW definitely has been documented to help apx 2-3 degrees. In stop and go traffic I think it works too, but much harder to have a precise measurement with ever changing conditions. I trust what I have experienced at the track. Pus most tracks require no anti freeze anyway. I think Engine Ice does the same thing but I don't have any experience with it.

You only use about 8oz of WW. What ever size the small bottle is. Anytime anybody states 50/50 mix I take it as water/glycol mix.

NO. WW comes in about 12oz bottles. That's all you need for your system with the rest being distilled water. Google it and read about it. It's the age of computers ya know........
