    Hello all.

I just joined up and wanted to stop in and say hi. I recently just bought my first VFR and can't wait until the weather in the PNW warms up so I can get out there.

I have been in the sportbike/superbike scene for 15+ years and all of that super crouching has destroyed my back so I am looking forward to actually be able to ride for more than 30 min. at a time.

The bike that I picked up is a 2005 bright red VFR ABS with only 9k miles. She is absolutely pristine! Zero scratches or scuffs. I overpaid a little however it was my own choice to do so as I have been tearing the internet apart looking for that perfect bike.

I got the bike, new never mounted OEM hard bags and back Trunk. New OEM VFR cover. New k&n oil filter and redline oil for the next change. For 5K. I'm in this for the long haul at this point. :)

    Welcome. Great bike!

If the garage queen sat for years with no fluid changes, you'll have some diligence cut out for you. (Ask me how I know.) If the internals are pristine as well, then no price was too high a price.

    Thanks everyone!
Knight: It is on my list to go through all of the fluids. I actually broke my foot about a week before I purchased the bike so I haven't actually been able to ride it...:) ( I had an experienced rider with me that I trust on the mechanic side do a test ride first.)
Scuba: it is an 05, stated on the frame and the title. None of us know for SURE that we didn't buy a respray, however, if it is a respray it is the most meticulously done paint job I have ever seen. The OEM paint code sticker is on top of the paint and all of the warning stickers are still in place. I don't know about you but if I were to paint a bike I don't know if I would want to drop the extra $100ish on new OEM warning stickers on to of the new paint.

That's good to know, I re-read my post and I didn't mean for it to be "snarky" at all. Sorry if it came across that way.

Could it be because it is an ABS model? I know that some manufacturers do different colors for different trims

Nice looking bike. Red rocks! Fun days of riding lay ahead for you.

If you are curious about paint, link below shows paint codes. You said paint code sticker is still on so you can match up just so you know.

Hope the foot heals so you can go. Weather getting too good not to ride.

If you find the red code perhaps decipher the VIN next. Colorrite shows red as being available so perhaps the bike came from elsewhere?

The color code is R258, no you have me all wondering how I managed to grap a color that wasn't readily available in '05

If you check part sites like Bike Bandit or Partzilla you will see that Honda Winning Red (R258) was most certainly a color option for the 2005 model.
