So i am planning a trip from NH to the Dragon in NC/TE this upcoming May. For those of you who carry while riding, does anyone have any cool lock boxes or storage locations for a compact type pistoR for that matter. Obviously you can carry on you person but my Conceal carry license is only recognized in some of the states so i will need to separate it and lock it up.

Be careful, NY and NJ will lock you up if they stop you and find it. I really wish they would hurry up and pass the national carry permit. I can ride the entire southeast carrying as they are reciprocal states. VA just stopped this year, damn Commies!! I would look for somewhere under the seat. Or,... the 6th gens had a "smuggler exhaust" where one muffler is a dummy with storage. Maybe yours has the same available??

I'm hearing that carrying in your vagina is a bad idea.

NH - Is that where your license plates say "Live Free or Die"? As an honorary Texan, that surprised the shit out of me when I first saw it. I cannot imagine seeing that everyday, pretty sure it would wear me down. It is also my favourite of all the state license plate slogans. VA and AK are tied for second.

Worst we have is the Quebecois telling everyone they are souvenirs.

Because everyone else has one and you don't bring a knife to a gun fight.

Better to have a gun and not need it. Than to need a gun and not to have it.

Been on the fence with this as well. Still thinking about the cause and effect syndrome if it's worth it or not knowing how life is out there in the real world, but the states I'd be traveling through are pretty hard ass to this so??? CA. SMH is it worth it?

Its my right to carry a gun, as mentioned before I rather have it and never need it, then that one time i need it and not have it. I hope to never have to use my weapon but im prepared too if need be to protect myself, my kids or my family. I avoid "Gun Free Zones" as thats where all the mass shootings happen... but thats another topic for another day. ok enough of that crap haha. I was hoping some people had cool custom lock boxes or something.

I think keeping it in a lock box would defeat the purpose of carrying it. I think you would what the gun concealed but accessible. Somewhere on your person perhaps? Whatever you decide do your homework. As others have said not all states may recognize your license. Not to mention each state may have different laws on transporting firearms.

I know some states dont recognize my license which is why i want a lock box to separate it and lock it away and to stay legal as i can transport if i follow the law correctly. That is the point of this thread haha. Was hoping someone had something custom they made or some other solutions. The states that recognize my license it will be on my person. Cars have some pretty cool lock boxes people have created just wondered if anyone has done anything with there bike.

Get what your saying, For me on my 5th gen there's just enough room in the tail under the seat, I made a custom fitted piece of dense foam for security, thing is I know what the law is for most states. thing is if I need it, last thing I want or need to do is go fumbling along getting it together, so I'm more incline to conceal carry like I do here, hence why I'm on the fence. Like you I'd rather have it knowing, than wishing. but again I ask myself does the risk out weigh knowing, in my case how CA looks at this. Pretty much a no brainier, so either avoid the state with some of the best roads, or hope and pray for the best. CA is the PITA and there's more a chance in that state shit to happen, all I want to do is have the ability to protect myself SMH.

I hear ya, There are transporting laws i can follow in the states i cannot carry. Drivers licenses are a privilege which are accepted in all states yet the 2nd amendment which is a RIGHT is not accepted in all states. IMO that is stupid. I have access to foam i can shape and cut to fit my gun, that is actually a very cool idea.

Do your homework as to what states your traveling through have respiratory with your home states conceled carry permit. I was flying to TX and declared mine and had it on my checked luggage. I dont carry one on the bike too often though :rambo:

Never knew it was ok to have a gun outside the house in the US. You could even walk into a supermarket or bank with a gun in your holster?

In some states yes, and it's getting more popular, wild west is back. I can carry here have my CPL, but not openly. I don't pack it when on the bike here going around, just was thinking of on the trip I have in the works if it's worth the trouble vs. risk. I like to keep things light and simple on the bike, and in this case worry free, Yet in this day and age one really needs to be on the look out for trouble, it's all around us. I have it on me when driving around in the truck when I head into what I call a questionable area. One can't be to safe this days.

I carry when I ride. I keep it in my tank bag in an outside pocket for easy access. If I go in a place I'm not supposed to carry in I can unload the firearm and place ammo and firearm in separate locked bags on the bike.

I also have the stash can exhaust system so I can hide it better if needed but I have never used it for that.

If I go somewhere and I feel unsafe without it then I carry. Legal or not. That's just me though. Your results may vary.
