    Hi All,

Just wanted to let you all know, you are stuck with me for a little while!

I just put a deposit down on a 07 RWB!

Should be delivered in about a week or so.

Not sure if I got a "great" deal but here's the list:
    - RWB w/ ABS
    - Center Stand
    - Blue side bags
    - Heated hand grips (odd story about this, see below)
    - 4yr extended warranty
    - $13.6k out the door.

My previous bike was a 03 BMW K1200GT. It was pretty loaded (cruise, heated grips, seat, electric windshield, ABS, etc.), so heated hand grips were a must.

I noticed that on Hondas website (and in the accessories catalog) they listed heated grips for the 07 VFR. Oddly enough though, the Honda grips were meant for 1" bars and the VFR has 7/8" or something like that. Anyway, the dealer was as confused as I was, so I'm getting some aftermarket ones installed.

Anyone else have heated grips on their 07 VFR?

Anyway, thanks for all the info and I've got a few farkles I'm going to be adding (HID, MotoLights, LED brake lights, bar-end cruise, etc.) over the next bit or so!

    See ya!

Congrads on your new bike!! I got a 07RWB about 3 months ago, and couldn't be happier. I'm sure you'll love it. Send some picts. as soon as you get it. Sounds like you got a preety good deal. Mine was 11,800 OTD, non abs, no bags, standard warranty, with a center stand.

Cooled grips.... Now thats an idea. How about something to tame that area by the right knee where the head seems just close enough to cook on a hot day? It never seems to help early in the season when its cold out though.... You are gonna love your bike. Congrats!!

Definitely - latest word would be delivery on this Saturday. If that happens I'll have pics up this weekend.

There are a few folks with pics of bags and the rack in the Photos section (I forget who right).

(P.S. Nozzle, if you think that this is, in any way, an attempt to sway your decision on the award on the "chain topic", it is!)

I hope they didn't charge you extra for the centerstand, it's a standard part of the bike.

Hmm I could have swore it was an option - I thought it was in the Honda Accessory book. But then again - heated grips were in there and they don't fit the VFR....

    centerstand

It is in the accessory book and is standard equipment... the centerstand is just that versatile. I like being able to spin the bike 180 deg. on the stand after pulling into a tight parking space/area.

I got the 07 RWB with ABS and a RF-1000 helmet ($500 value) for 11.2K, so I got the bike essentially for 10.7K! I think I got a pretty bitchin deal. But then again, I bought in winter, when deals are to be had.
Now I am saving for the PCIII, O2 eliminators, HID lights, and in the end.... laser exhaust...
Heated hand grips??? Frozen fingers are in style! haha god those would come in handy in february....

    Hi All,

A number of folks asked for pics with the bags.

    Go to:
    http://vfrworld.com/photos/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=5574

The folks at Honda of Fairfield were more than fair and plesant to deal with IMHO.

I checked, and yes the center stand is standard.

The folks commented that the blue hard cases looked really good on the bike. I'm inclined to agree, although the black rails do detract a bit from the overall appearance of the bike when they are off - but that's OK.

This is my first non-BMW motorcycle, so I'm kinda new to Honda's and their dealer network. Seems great so far!

Hey Alow, I love that new RWB VFR, wish I had the $$$ to buy one. I am not on top of all the latest prices of bikes and accessories, but from a common sense point of view, sounds like you got a nice deal. I have been told that the ABS is a very wise option. Are you planning to do antyhing with the exhaust system in the way of performance upgrades? I have been told that the new VFR 's are kinda quiet, almost like you cant hear them run. Anyway just what I was told. I think you will be very happy with the quality , fit and finish of your machine.Back in my moto cross days I always ran Kawasakis,
I longed for the day that I could afford some E

Sorry , I hit the wrong key, but must continue. Anyway I always wanted to buy one of those exotic European MX bikes. I finally broke down and ponied up for a new KTM 250mx . Soon I was DNF ing due to Motoplat ignition problems, touchy carburators, and the like . Well you understand where I am going with this. Anyway you dont need Euro stuff to make you happy. You will love that new bike. eddie

aloeIshush: If you've only left Beemer dealers before and the seat on the Honda feels funny, it is because of all the money left in your wallet ;-) On the cases..

I hate the two keys, 1 ignition & 1 case key. (BMW did better there ;-) one or the other always scrapes something. So I electrical taped the two together at 90 deg in such a way that the ignition key clears the bags and the case key hits the warning label when you open the gas lid. no scraped triple tree.

Nice picks - white balanced even ;-)

Took a short ride today to scrub in the tires. I did notice lots of power and good braking. The VTEC kicking in is somewhat of an adventure.

I've seen a few posts regarding smoothing it out by making a few mods - I'll have to look into that.

The bags are another matter. Whoever designed the keying system on these things needs to have their brains checked. The second key is a minor annoyance, but the way to latch/unlatch and secure/unsecure the case is atrocious! I have a set of keys that I ride with and there's no way that it'd clear the setup. I'm going to have to experiment a bit with them. BMW had a far easier/better mounting system and it looked a bit cleaner. The keys were also matched. I don't see a way to do that with the VFR as the ignition key is about twice as long as the bag key

I like your idea nozzle, I may try that.

As a personal comparison to the K1200GT, it's not really the same. To me, the BMW was more touring sport touring, and this is more sport sport touring.

The size of the two is like night and day. I am still slightly concerned about riding Iron Butts and such on it, but I'll be working on that in the next few months I'm sure.

I really don't have a brand preference per se. The issues with BMW in my area are well noted on other forums. Regardless, I'm pretty happy with the VFR thus far.

Someone asked about exhaust mods. At this point, I see no reason to really modify the exhaust. There are plenty of other things on the list that I could spend the cash on. Namely:
    - HID
    - Motolight caliper mount (I have the lights from my K1200GT)
    - LED brake lights
    - Throttlemeister/cruise control of some sort
    - Possible replacement seat

Most of the changes I want to make are mainly safety related. While the lighting on the VFR seems superior to the K1200GT, I always prefer more light!
