Thanks Alaskan...seems alot more responsive. ...for an 02 he told me that no valve noise and idles perfect at 31,500, do the valves at 50,000.
Good thing I learned is it's a nice even flow with no spikes on the printout

    Please post up the thread.
    Valves and springs? lol
Is he talking cam timing or ignition timing?
I need some details here, but as of now I am calling bullshit.
The only people that have really gotten into that stuff are Norcalboy, Mohawk and Highsidenz, but both mohawk and highsidenz are using fifth gen blocks, where cam degreeing/milling heads etc is not really possible.
The vfr800 has massive intake/exhaust valves and there is no benefit from going bigger, they are more than capable of supporting 160+ whp
Springs aren't necessary unless he is running more aggressive cams and a higher redline.
Ignition timing adjustment is very possible and easily accomplished and adds loads of 2500-8000 rpm torque, if he has a Rapid bike racing module, but that wasn't mentioned. A timing adjustment plate can be used, but those are a terrible idea.
Cam timing adjustment is possible on the sixth gen via slotting the cam sprocket bolt holes and dialing some additional valve over lap can add some top end hp at the expense of low end torque, but I doubt that was done.
A good amount of power can be gained via porting/polishing/milling the heads, but that wasn't done either.

To me, this sounds just like some asshole that cut a hole in his airbox and called it a build, made up a bunch of fake mods that he heard his hot rod friends saying about their old camaro and dyno'd his bike on a high reading mobile dyno with the correction factor way off or just made up some numbers.

Nope....That train left the station a long time ago. However..there is a little trick you can do with the springs that will add a few ponies, but it works best with new valves and angle grind.

But would that little trick give you 118? Or just a few?

Pretty interesting is all I can say 100LL huh.. hmm I knew fuel made a difference, but this ain't nitro. Back in the day I used 130 oct out of the hanger, that stuff made a difference, but that's when fuel was hot.

Oh god that guy? I was setting up a drag race with him a year or two ago and then he totalled it out. He said the same thing about that bike's "motor work", I didn't believe him and wanted to prove that it was stock, but I never got a chance to race him. Maybe I will get another shot with this bike he's got now. I can't wait to see the dyno sheet, but I doubt it exists. That would be awesome if I was wrong though and this guy really milled his heads down so much that he needed 100 octane aviation fuel lol.

Isn't it true that anyone that knows dyno can pretty much falsify a print out?

So today was my first under the fairing excursion, PAIR removal and Honda quickshifter install. The Honda fairing clips are kind of annoying, aren't they? Especially the quarter turn screw type snaps used at the lower cowl. They can really go fuck themselves. It's quite nice doing work on a bike with only a handful of miles. Didn't even feel the need to wash my hands afterwards!

That must be an awesome feeling!

My Celica has trim screws that turn a quarter turn then pop. I found a similar screw online and buy them in bulk. Because they are under the car, at every oil change there are one or two that are fried, even though they have only been installed once or twice. (Disappointing!) I just pop new ones in. I do not worry about breaking them anymore. My supplier:

Got a few winter projects for my bike this year but this part is almost finished. Just got a little more buffing out of the lense to go and sealing it back up tomorrow. Excited to make some headway finally

I rode to meet OCLandspeeder and we hit some really thick fog on Ortega Highway!

NOTE: The audio isn't that great, mostly wind noise. This is from my GoPro, which seems to not have great audio, now that I have a hole cut into the side of the case for the USB cable to provide a full time power connection.

You cannot falsify a printout. The paper is either printed or it is not.

    Sorry, ocd and all :)

Yeah, I'm going to see what I can do. I tried to get the hole in the side of the case as close to the size of the USB cable but it was kind of difficult with the Dremel tool to be very accurate. I was planning on building a better seal with some silicone but I saw some other stuff, "mold-able glue", for the lack of a better term. You can mold it to just about any shape and then it hardens up adhering to the surfaces it's placed against. This "dead cat" thing looks like it goes on the back of the case, which right now has a cable tie stay adhered to the back of it to hold the USB cable in place. I probably won't be able to do anything before the next ride as I will be super busy the next few days but...The next ride will be a track day at Chuckwalla raceway!

For this I plan on using the two camera setup again. We'll see how it goes though. The person I was supposed to be hitching a ride with waited too long to register and missed the window of opportunity and thus won't be going! So unless I can get a trailer so that my other friend can tow behind his truck, I might have to postpone this for another day :(

    Nice, love the special effects.
Now for the weather to get better here, I'd like to give this go pro thing a good going over.

The most terrified I have even been on a bike was in Colorado, riding with some buddies and we ran into fog. I had zero visibility and I slowed. I watched my buddy's R100RS go around me and his tail lite wink out in a bike length in front of me. I was puckered up for sure. If I remember correctly it was while we were rounding some mountain on our way down highway 50 to Cotopaxi. We ran out of it as quickly as we ran into it. It was absolutely terrifying.
