Major electrical crash

    I know this is a real Heath Robinson approach, but lately I've taken to soldering wires directly onto the fuse whenever I need to use an in-line fuse for something. I did this on my Suzuki a couple of years ago when I noticed the charging was getting sluggish. Traced the problem to the over the counter fuse holder I had bought, so soldered in a fuse and it was sorted. Obviously it gets tricky if said fuse blows but I just carry a in line fuse holder for when that happens

    I have had this failure. It looks like the fuse holder gets cooked by excessive heat from high current draw. Have solved it by soldering in two fuse holders in parallel and running two 20 amp fuses (in parallel) instead of 1 30 amp fuse. You effectively divide the current in half through each fuse holder, and they should not get cooked like a single. Yea, I know I get a 40 amp blow, instead of a 30 amp blow.
