Hey guys. Just finally pulled the trigger on my dream bike after closing on my house and having some closing cash left over cause my mortgage broker is a sly guy.
Picked up an Asphalt Black 2004 Interceptor VFR800 ABS. And the best part? Only 3650 miles on it!!

    Welcome! It is a beauty!

When was the last time you rode? Do you have other bikes today?

Hey I think it's wet. Is it raining? Better get the bike inside right away!

Underoath, yes, the clearcoat on asphalt is matte.

    Nice! Looks great!

My first 6th gen was black - my latest 6th gen ('02) I picked up at the end of summer with 9,800km (~6050 miles). Those low mileage bikes are out there!

Mine had 4500 miles on it when I got it from a cop in Chicago -shipping was expensive. No vfr's where I am, but I glad its a 2006 when it had a few upgrade's.

not raining, just a fresh bath.

I've had a handful of bikes over the last few years; started on a 89 Honda Hawk GT, 2002 Honda CBR600 F4i, Suzuki GS750 café racer (still have it, in a million pieces), 2007 Kawasaki Ninja 250 (still have it, commuter) and now my 2004 VFR800a.

The gen 6 might be the only bike IMO that looks great either all black OR all white.

All other bikes lose their "shape" in black, or look like a police bike in white!

    Nice deal LongIsland!
With my white 2006, I'm sure that when some people see me in their rear view, they slip it it down to legal speed thinking I might be The Law. Dang it ...get out of my way.
Local police had slick white bimmers, but cost was high. They switched to a cheaper maintenance plan with Victory's. The officer that gave me a warning preferred the bimmers.

Welcome to the site. Hope you detailed that puppy with something better than armoral when you washed it. You have a long way to go with that low mileage. Mine is going strong at 196,000 km.

Not sure I'm being biased, but great color choice!
FYI, You are not supposed to wax, or use any polishes on this color. If you do, it will eventually turn to smooth and shiny black, which is not supposed to be.

I figured that but what have you found to work best with Asphalt? I have a flat black helmet that I just use glass cleaner and a microfiber on.

Congrats, I'm a few days away (hopefully if everything goes well) from making a purchase myself.
