I started searching for lights today and the led technology has come a long way. I picked up two good quality (metal housing, good wiring ) 16 watt 4 led lights at a local parts store for around $100 with a quality harness with relay and push button switch. Install took about an hour. I mounted them using the provided brackets to the fender mounts on the fork leg. I was shocked at the light output 20151230_164235.jpg 20151230_211554.jpg 20151230_211546.jpg 20151230_211534.jpg

Cool! I've entertained this same idea in the past. Could we see a closeup of the mounting setup with the lights turned off? And what did the wiring job entail?

I found a complete harness at O'Reilly auto parts, that included the switch, relay, and all wiring in a nice cover. I just shortened/lengthen it in a few place and ran it all with the factory harness to the back. Went straight to battery for 12v and to the frame for ground. The relay is tied into the old abandoned tag light harness that was just laying under the seat. Looks wise it's ok, but this is a beater bike with scratches and a ok blue paint job at best, but the function overrides the looks for me, I'm past the point of caring about what people think. 20151231_142243.jpg 20151231_142251.jpg 20151231_142319.jpg

That would work great, I think the ones I got are 1200 lumens, so those would be brighter and the round light might look better as well. Definitely worth mounting with the benefit of how much light you gain, and if you decide you don't like them or want them moved and is not permanent and your wiring is already there for anywhere on the front of the bike
