Metzeler made a new tire that fits my old 750F 1989, Sportec klassik 140/80/17 and 110/80/17 that is. I´ve searched everywhere for reviews without results... I considered to buy Pilot roads, but they are one number too large for my rims, and i´ve asked a lot of people about the size but got no trustable answer. So now i just bought the Metzelers hoping theyre ok.

Do anyone here got the Sportec Klassik?

I have had Metzler LaserTec tires on my 83 750 since I have had it. Not familiar with the Klassic, but Metzler was the only decent 16" front tire I could find. Just replaced them both this summer, handle very well.

I have ridden on nothing but Metzeler since....well forever basically. I would absolutely trust them to make and offer a great tyre for your bike. I wholeheartedly agree that you really should stay with the original sizes as something like a 120/80 front and 160/60 rear would physically fit on the rim, but they are designed for wider rims that yours and so they would end up with poor profiles being pulled in to much on the sides. From the look of the product page, the Klassik looks like a conventional bias belted tyre but running a modern compound.
