I can't make out whether or not on your side of the pond there is a actually another motorbike jeans manufacturer calling their products "Dragon jeans" possibly to piggyback on the good name of "Draggin Jeans" or whether its just down to people misspelling stuff?

Either way, I have a couple of pairs of "Draggin Jeans" and like all safety critical stuff I always buy direct from an official UK distributor - http://www.draggin.co.uk/ and as you will see the real ones are not cheap! OK you will find plenty of similar looking jeans being sold at a fraction of the cost on eBay but you probably don't want to find out that you bought a Chinese fake when you are sliding down the road.

Draggin Jeans are my first choice on days when it is far too hot to wear full leathers. Sizing is indeed a bit weird and not consistent between styles - so either visit a retailer and try them on or buy from someone willing to allow you to return stuff if the fit is wrong.

Whilst thankfully I have never tested mine in a crash, a friend got up and walked away after a 10 metre slide with one leg trapped under their Hornet. As others have said - they were very happy the Kevlar did its stuff with no breakthrough and apart from a few bruises and serious embarrassment the Draggin Jeans quite literally saved their skin.

If you're not scared off by the $230 price tag, you might want to wait till Icon's new "1000 Rouser" is released in a couple of weeks. I have found the Icon jeans to be very comfortable and somewhat stylish. I really like that the D30 knee armor is removable from an external zipper on the side of the knee... no need to remove the pants to pop out the armor when you get to where you're going. Check em out...

Like the zip in removable knee pads, must admit it's a much better idea than the stupid Velcro one's my draggins have.

The RHOK's I have also have the zipper just below the knees for the inserts; also have a couple of inserts for the hips (inside). I can't speak to the others, but the RHOK jeans I have are -very- comfortable. I wear them all day

NM ... I see now that they have pockets for armor. That said, they are way more expensive than the Joe Rockets ... like almost triple once you factor in the exchange rates.

I have the exact same jeans Jeff. I wear them from time to time for shorter rides or if I am going for lunch or something like that. Otherwise wear the leather suits. I do find that after wearing them for a while off the bike, the knee pads tend to bother my knees a bit though. Not painful or anything like that but I do know the armour is there. Maybe I just need to get used to that.

Yeah, mine took a bit of getting used to .... I've worn mine all day in the office without issues.

I need to get a new set of textile ones as well.

Personally I would go with something more protective than jeans, but if I were to go the jean route I would go with Draggin' Liners under the Scorpion Covert Pro Jeans They are made with Cordura 373 GSM and 250 GSM DuPont™ Kevlar®. Then I would add the SAS-TEC Knee Armor and SAS-TEC Hip armor.

At this point you would be at $367. There are a lot of other options you could buy for $367 or less.

I agree with others that say armor in armor pockets move around too much. Not something I would depend on in a crash. I went the Scorpion Trey route. Even though they come with SAS-TEC armor I use these Fox Racing Knee/Shin Guard instead.

I don't own any and I will wait until I buy Bohn armor before I do, reason being as stated above. There is nothing in jeans holding the armor in place against your body where it needs to be. Bohn fixes the armor tightly against your body. Then the kevlar will do it's job. I ride in a two piece Sedici track suit, as it takes just as long to put on armored leather pants as it does jeans. When I was commuting to the office, I would just change there.

So ever since I got rid of my ill-fitting Draggin' Jeans and got a pair of the crap-made, crap-fitting Icon Rouser 1000s, I did more research on this subject. I found a small company that a lot of people swear by called Hood. They're handmade, they're in the UK and can be called directly, and they're fairly priced. You can also tell from the taper that they probably fit fairly well and are not too baggy. In any case, for those of you in this market they are worth checking out (I'm gonna buy a pair this spring and see how it goes).

I've been wearing the 'Sliders' that Competition accessories and have been real happy with them. That being said, just received an email from MotorcycleGear.com regarding a closeout sale of AGVSport riding jeans. $75!

For the record, I have not tried these nor do I know much about them other than from the link below. I will say that Motorcyclegear.com has been a great place to buy from, customer service has been really good. At least that has been my experience.

Thanks for the link, I'll check them out. I had a pair of Sliders years ago but found the knee armor was sewn wrong on one knee and then saw the result of a friends get off wearing them, the armor rotated and the asphalt took no time to tear through the denim and Kevlar. I think for the short around town rides I want a pant that has the low profile but extremely protective D3O armor and uses the new Cordura that looks and feels like cotton. I wear leathers year round but a jean with really good protection could be useful in some situations.

Kinda along the lines of this subject, I've been looking at these under armor like items that are made out of Kevlar, how cool is that, http://www.gogogearla.com/kevlar-base-layer/ thinking that would not only be cool to have for warmth, but the added protection in when one wears say jeans. My thing is though I like to feel comfortable on a bike giving me the flexibility to do the job at hand, in that case it's hard to beat leather that fits.
