I hope many had the opportunity to take in the sights of the Friday the 13th festivities last week. I counted 13 VFR's however must admit did not have enough time to walk all of the streets to view the more than 40,000 motorcycles. Quite a sight!
I was on my way at 10am to meet up with 3 friends at Smithville. We planned to ride in together. Just as I got to the Tim Hortons, my bike went dead - flat battery. I pulled off the back cowl and inspected the wiring of the R&R but couldn't see a problem. My one friend doubled me back to my house with my battery and he went on his way to continue to Port Dover with the other two. I charged the battery, got a ride back to my bike and rode it home safely. I found a faulty connection going out of the R&R, fixed it and it's fine now. Unfortnately, it was too late to make the ride. Sort of like being sick and confined to your room as a kid while all your friends are outside playing. Oh well, I made the one in April and I will be ready to make the next one in June of next year!
I was there from 9:30 to 2:30, what a busy place. I rode in with some harley friends, hard to keep my bike contained (slowed) to ride with those folks. But it sure was worth the drive from Kitchener.
