Hi all. I know this has been discussed here looong time ago and i have found http://www.vfrdiscussion.com/forum/index.php/topic/16-fi-light-how-to-read-error-codes/page-2 this link regarding the codes and how to read it.

My problem is and i have not found it yet, when my light came on the first time this morning it came on 3 times briefly and every time it came on there was significant power loss. After the 3rd light it stopped and for the rest of my ride to work did not come on again.

Now if i ride the bike again will the error codes be lost or can i retrieve it later on to maybe diagnose what could be wrong?
Also anyone else had similar problem?

    Thx

I'm pretty sure that until you deliberately clear the error codes using the diagnostic connector, they will still in the memory.

If you put the bike on side stand and switch on the ignition the fi light will give you a sequence of flashes that relate to a code in the service manual. If the light comes on for 3s the off that is the equivalent to 10 flashes so for example I had one that was on for 3s, off, on 3s, off, 3 flashes so checked 23 and it told me I had a problem with the O2 sensor on the black connector. Since I terminated these with 4w 220 ohm resistors a while back it was simply a matter or re seating the resistor.
Try it, bike on side stand and make a note of the sequence. Section 5.23 of the service manual has the codes. definitely in section 5 in any case. Search my posts I added a free download link of the manual.

I did the test as per the link i included. There was a whole lotta blinking going on. Erratically mostly. I did noticed within the pauses that it did blink 8 times twice in teh sequences. Now the only option in the Manual that goes inline with the lacking of power or re-tardedness of the motor when the FI light goes on indicates a TP censor issue. I fiddled with the connector plug and so far not had any FI light coming on.

Is it fixed, not sure but from what ive seen / felt whilst riding and what the manual tells me it looks to be the TP censor.
