Hello everybody, the name is Ryan. Ive been riding for 4 years on an 01 sv650 and I'm looking for something a bit newer with fuel injection. I hear over and over that vfrs have one of the longest and best lines of bikes on the road so I've decided to make that my next ride.

I was looking at an 03 but it got sold before I had a chance to move in on it. I'm looking to spend about 4k, anyone know of quality bikes for sale around that range? Any help would be appreciated

    Ryan

This is a case of how far you're willing to travel or ship. Craigslist is pretty good for finding them, they are out there, just have to spread your wings to go get em, even this fine place or VFRD has em too.

I've owned a '99 5th gen (98-01), an '07 6th gen (02-09), and now a '10 7th gen (10-14). Technologically speaking, the 7th gen is the superior bike in every aspect. Aesthetically, I think the 6th gen is the best looking overall. But when it comes to overall best bike that I personally connected with, the 5th gen wins hands down. Fuel injection, mid sized bike, V4 with awesome gear driven cams and heavenly exhaust note, and still good aftermarket support. It's just hard to beat.

Now don't get me wrong, I'd buy my 7th gen again in a heartbeat. It's that damn good. But I still regret selling my 5th gen. Thats one I wish I would have fought my wife over a little more.

If your lucky get a 2006 the best vfr there is-until you get to the next bike the 7th which is still way over priced -not worth the money yet till you can get a used one cheap.

Thanks for the help everyone, I have some alerts set up so if what I'm looking for comes up I'll be able to swoop it up right away.

Is this a pretty active community? The group of sv650 people I met on the forums were very helpful, especially with it being my first bike.

Alright, I found a bike in my price range and I pulled the trigger on it.
I am curious as to what everybody's opinion on the best first buy for a completely stock 6th gen would be? I was thinking for sure the fender eliminator kit and an exhaust or power commander.

I've only seen 2 brothers and delkovic available for the 6th gen, are there other, better options out there?

    Thanks again

Without a doubt, this is the best mod you can make for just about any VFR. The only rival would be the upgraded R/R and stator connector.

I was looking at a members website that my brother (who owns a 99 VTR) highly recommended. He uses a resprung f4i shock calibrated to my height and weight. I can't think of the specific domain name but he came up in other threads so I'm assuming he does very good work

    Are you still riding barr0183?
It would suck to get the bike and not at least get 1 frozen day on it!
I rode at lunch and it feels like it's right on the limit- but I'm west of the twin cities.

I'm going to ride it unless it's below 45, just the once at least. It would be a shame to just stare at it for 5 months.

Yea, I'm just sitting at my window waiting to see a truck pull into the development.

Oo look a truck, oooh :(

I've got a fender eliminator already ordered and will pull the trigger on an exhaust or a new rear suspension this week.
