Hi to everyone! Im new to this forum, sorry if the topic has already been discussed, but. Id really like to know what you fellas think.. Rgv 250 vj22 versus vfr nc30 ? .. Pul away, handling, top end, reliability, looks ... On quater mile... I dont know much about bikes, but u guys sound really clued up on al this?
Two totally different bikes. Ride them both and see what you like. The VFR has a broad powerband (for a 400) and while it's quite light not as light as the RGV, but the RGV is a two stroke soggy as hell off the bottom and a narrow and short power band. The Honda will be infinitely more reliable and serviceable long term.
I have never ridden a vfr400, but I can say If you plan on doing alot of riding the 400 might be the better bet. The RGV has alot of minor maintanance which should be done on a regular basis ie clean power valves, remove carbon, that you don't have to do with a 4 stroke. Plus on the RGV, Make sure the power valves have been upgraded because the stock original have a brittle pin that could break and drop into the cylinder head. I do think the RGV is a bang and a half to ride and I enjoy my time with it, but its not a day to day rider. hope that helps, Keith
