I want some input, advice, recommendations, etc. for some upgrades I would like to do.

-Of course I want to replace the cans with some rad stuff, I've been trying to find Leo Vince mufflers but it looks like they have all been snagged up. I read Stain Tunes are just show and no go. Any input on that? It seems Delkevic may be the only option, not that I'm against it. I think it would super cool if someone did an exhaust system that looks like the Moto GP V4 bikes, like one can under the seat and the other by the right foot. Has anyone done that?
-I want to get rid of my passenger foot pegs but the ABS model I have wont allow for the removal of the right passenger footpeg since the remote clicker is mounted to it. What can I do for that?
-Anyone got rear sets on theirs? I've only seen an option from Yanashiki, is there anything else out there?
-I also want to disable the linked braking system, is it true I need to get a new front left or right caliper? I don't remember which is needed. How do I go about disabling that?
-What about doing the cooling fan swap with a super chicken fan?
-Radial master cylinder swaps? What are the size of the pistions?
-Clutch master cylinder swap with a brembo? Again what are the size of the pistons?
-Suspension I can live with for now

My apologies if I'm asking questions that have been asked a million times.

Did you cut the passenger pegs? FMF direct doesn't have VFR exhaust anymore and does DAM exhaust ship to the US? What are the stats for those pipes? I've been riding shitty bikes forever so I'm ok with stock VFR springs. I can't wait to get a bike that has suspension that actually works though!

Yup on the bubble, and yes, cut the pegs off since the wifey won't ride..better to show of the wheel and mount the Givi rack.
Just did my front forks from Jamie Daugherty (member here)insert kit, shortly will have him do the rear abs VFR rear shock I got from ebay.
By all accounts its supposedly a 100% difference. ...won't know till tomorrow for my first ride...just installed. ..
Lots of members here swear by his work and he's very good at what he does..
Call Revzilla or either company direct and see if the have a distributor in the states and where.

    Semi gut the stock exhust.
Resistors on ait sensor loop w/ o2 sensors. Put this on a switch so you can keep mpg when u want.
strip pegs, pair valve and anything else it dont need.
3/8" tail riser and lower front end 1/4" or so after you set suspension to your weight very important.
Clip on's if you dont mind them
The bike loves to be riden on the front wheel and you will never get any major power out of it so exhust and pc not worth it.
Set up suspension and bike will turn like a 600 and u will love it.
When i tracked my 02 i pissed off alot of gixxer 1000 guys when i smoked them thru the corners

A moto gp style exhaust with the 2 front cylinders coming together and coming out by your right foot and the rear 2 cylinders coming together and going out under the seat would be awesome. No one has done that yet. If you did it that would be cool to see a vfr newb come in and do something different. Be sure to do before and after dynos ;)

Staintunes are just show and no go? Lol thats a new one. A slip on is a slip on. But as far as slip ons go, the Leos and Stain tunes are very high quality, while delkivic is just ebay special stuff. But again a slip on isn't going to do anything dramatic, but reduce weight and by that thought alone, I would go with the two brothers carbon and ditch the dummy can. 4-2-1-2 exhausts are the definition of form over function, you only need 2 mufflers when you are dealing with highly restrictive factory mufflers. When dealing with straight through race mufflers, there is zero benefit to adding a y pipe and a second muffler. Funny thing is, one of the most expensive slip ons out there, the FMF slip on, someone with one just made a post complaining about how it only flows out of the right hand muffler. All the y pipe and second muffler is doing for you is adding weight and restriction.

If you want to ditch the passenger pegs, you should upgrade your shock, to a fully adjustable unit without remote preload or reservoir. This would be another two birds with one stone mod. I would contact Jaime Daughtry and see if he can build you an f4i or 929 shock, sprung and valved to your weight. Or just buy a nice off the shelf performance shock from ebay, there are a million to choose from and they will all out perform the factory vfr crap.

As far as rear sets go, I am running Sato rear sets and they are worth every penny. GP shift is how all bikes should have came from the factory and the Satos make adding a quick shifter easy.

The best bang for the buck to disable your linked brakes is to ditch your forks and front brakes. Then find a set of f4i forks and brakes and have Jaime Daughtry Respring/valve them.

The super hawk fan is a waste of time, just get a manual fan switch and call it a day.

As far as radial master cylinder swaps go, I am using a brembo radial clutch master cylinder off of a 2009 ducati monster 1100 evo and it has been great. On the front brakes, I have a 2005 Yamaha R1 front end so I can't help you there, I would again just recommend going F4i front forks and brakes and going from there. On the rear brakes, after delinking the brakes and running a loop on the rear caliper to get all 3 pistons working, the vfr rear master is fine, but if you want to do sweet bro slides, an f4i rear master cylinder will make the master/slave ratio more ideal and allow for easier rear brake locking.

Suspension, "you can live with for now?" Quit being a squid and upgrade the suspension first. That is where your time and money will go the furthest on the VFR. Again Talk to Jaime and ask him about your options.

Yes these questions have been asked a million times, so get comfortable with the search feature, join VFRdiscussion and do so searching over there too.

My 2 cents - the three most important mods to a 6th Generation VFR are: (1) suspension; (2) suspension; and (3) suspension.

    1. Suspension and brakes (front end swap is a two for one here, rear shock)

    2. Weight reduction (slip on, catless header, brake delink, pair valve block off, evap canister removal, passenger pegs and handles, center stand, lion battery, 520 chain conversion, etc....)

    3. More power (unobtanium two brothers/Erion Header, piper cross filter, snorkel/flapper delete, custom velocity stacks, custom fuel and ignition timing mapping, over bored throttle bodies, and then the big boy stuff port/polish/milled heads and custom cams, cbr929 pistons)

I stuck my remote clicker under the seat. Just shaved a bit of plastic with an exacto knife and it hides away nice and secure. The strap you see sticking out of the saddle is for my tail bag.

I'll have to say that suspension is the first place to go, then weight reduction, as the way CandyRed describes it. Once I got my suspension redone, the handling of the bike had increased dramatically, that the power the bike came with is much more usable now. Meaning, I didn't need more horsepower, I needed a bike that could handle the horsepower I have. +1 for using Jamie, he has done both my VFRs and soon will be modifying my Duc's suspension. It's the best ROI you can make IMO.

Jamie fixed the suspension on my 1984 VF750F (sold). His stuff is reasonably priced and works great.

    Yeah, Jamie. :crushed:

Ever notice that carb guys like me, TC and others are always willing to help riders out with carb info but suspension gurus don't share any info at all so we could do it ourselves ?? :livid:
