We're not supermen.

A very large portion of motorcycle crashes on video were caused by the rider doing something a car couldn't or shouldn't have, like passing on the right and in corners. Sure, we can easily out-accelerate and brake just about any vehicle on the road but it can get us into places we shouldn't be. I'm guilty of not stopping completely, a habit I'm trying to break.

Still, death to the driver....

 

The driver may not have been arrested at the scene for at least one reason. There were several people at the scene and we can safely assume someone called in the LEOs as well as medical services. IOW they had this asshole. Since they had him the LEO in charge may have been waiting for the local DA to file charges that fit the crime all nice and legal with no mistakes. When you got a dude on attempted vehicular homicide who really gives a shit if he has a busted wiper blade or his tags are out of date.

 

He does not deserve to be beaten to death. He deserves to be brought before a court to answer for his actions.

If that was done to a riding buddy of mine, I guarandamtee I would of turned off my camera and bulldozed the SOB a with my helmet.

 

The only difference between this and the thousands of other motorcycle accidents between cars and motorcycles is the public display. How many times have motorcyclists been maimed or killed and because there is no video the car driver goes unpunished. Two things made sure he was prosecuted. 1 he was video taped, 2 the freaking idiot stopped. If those things hadn't occurred he would've got away. Especially the video. Without that he would've went free. How many times has the police believed the wrong story at a traffic accident. The douche bag deserves to be away for a very long time and never allowed to drive again.

But again the motorcyclist was breaking the law. Sure some ass hat wanted to be offended by someone so the dickless wonder could attack with a car. But there are people out there doing that everyday. And then there are the distracted drivers which are also a menace. But the instant a rider takes on a pillion, he/she has to put the their interests above all. In this case only the pillion is absolutely innocent and she was injured the worse.

Guys there are people out there that are seething with anger. There are people out there driving so distracted that they are a menace to everyone. We are the ones that deal with it everyday. But when we take on a pillion then we are are being trusted with their lives. Please look out for them. Before someone rides on the back of a motorcycle they should be shown the results of road rash. And it is our obligation to provide the protection required before they hop on.

 

that's true-I never want a passenger-soon as that huge amount of weight-the bike handles like shit-that means you can't ride normally. when I do pass someone-I go very fast because I don't want any driver to cut me off-and I am careful of the car turning left into my lane. It takes patience to ride and a lot of people don't have that skill, if they don't learn it, they pay the penalty of pig napping:smash:

 

This won't be popular........... but i think the rider had extra responsibility while carrying a passenger, so he should have just waited for the right opportunity to pass legally.

Some asshole drivers may try to crash you. I remember following a car (on my ZX-7) going about 20mph below the speed limit in the fast lane, then veering sharply to the right when i went to pass him on the right. I KNOW he saw me.

I also ride more "sedately" when I have a passenger. Their safety is MY responsibility and I don't take any extra risks.

I do agree that the goat fucker should be shot for what he did. That was an unconscionable act of viciousness and callous lack of concern for human life. Given his pattern of behavior, he should be put away were he can't hurt anyone else.
