    i think we need to clarify here that the problem these bikes are experiencing is a different, more serious problem than the factory installed timing retard in first and second gear and EPA leanness ....am i correct ??? i found the first/second thing to be dangerous to the point of NOT riding the bike in NYC for that reason only, before the Z BOMB, but it did it consistantly....your problems are in addition to this right???....

    Dude, with that sort of defense you will get eaten alive by even a high school debater. Your premise seems to be that Honda does this shit on purpose because the bike, according to your statment, doesn't sell well or is the wrong color.

    This does not mean I recommend that any high school debater get a Harley.

    Our friends across the pond report all problems were fixed by a new ECU. StewartJ239 you are right that if legal action won't get the problem fixed it will be up to me and PC would have to be the first stop. Reports are that 2012 models do not exhibit this behavior (as of yet) maybe because they came up with real traction control rather than a band aid of decreased hp between 2500 and 6k rpm in 1st and 2nd gear. peculiar but that rpm range is where my stumbling and surging happens and predominantly in 1st and 2nd and on some occasions 3rd only once or twice above 3rd gear.

    With this being a completely new bike from the ground up in 2010, it amazes me that this wasn't done right before release. I was mistakenly under the impression that this was simply the same FI issues that the 6th Gen has that is properly remediated by the PC. I hope you guys get the resolution that you need.

    I can 100% confirm that this doesnt happen on the 12. Maybe you can get a 12 ECU and see what hapens unless they are not compatible due to the TC. Otherwise call a EU Honda dealer and buy the "updated" 10 ECU. I understand it will cost but those are your options if you want to keep the bike. Also if it solves the problem then you can sue for the cost of the ECU and probably get it much easier than the lemon law route.

    I bought a BLACK 13 model in May. Nearly 3000 miles on the clock and I love the bike.
    Strictly stock;
    No sputtering issues; 40-47 MPG depending on how froggy you feel;
    300+ mile days are easy on the rump and wrists.
    Fuel gauge is almost funny, watch the mileage, not the gauge;
    IMG_2900.jpg I love the bike.
