At least you would be a safe fool!

Seriously though, on the website it says that it takes a very firm pull to unplug it. They were saying something like if you had a scooter it would probably pull it over first.

winner of Nozzle's funniest Thread of the day.

I like the site. I expected to read poor engwish like:

Hit-Air useful for bridge water crossing stunt accident!!

I think the Goldwing's system that is tied to the bike's computer would be preferred, but.... I'd love to hear someone's opinion after they did the the flip dismount.

from the Hit air website...."K.Y. Kim" That appears to be the daughter equivalent of naming your son Richard Head.

I like it but does not give cost $$ . Also need to develop airbag to inflate to protect from bike damage ...

It looks like it would work best if you flew in to the river . personal inflation flotation device PIFD:biggrin: I would not like to "try it" but I think it would help lessin injury in a crash

Look at the reduction of g-forces with a normal jacket and with the hit-air jacket. Looks like a big difference. I do not think that you would be bouncing down the road like a ball, as they are not big enough to do so. I think it sounds like a great idea, and I would like to hear a first hand account of it's use.

~4.4 lbs to ~6.4 lbs (2.0 to 2.9 kilograms). A leather jacket is pretty heavy just on it's own. Not sure of the $$.

Not sure about t-bone protection, as this jacket is primarily intended for protection from being tossed from your bike. Well, look at it this way, if you are still alive after the car t-bones you, then once you are thrown from the bike after the initial impact, then you will sustain less injury. haha:smile:

Considering most motorcycle injuries occur when as the rider is thrown from the bike, this might at least lessen those injuries. Watch some of the video demonstrations. Also, the inventor supposedly has a firsthand account of its effectiveness in an accident.

I think these devices are a great idea especially for urban riding and commuting. It also a testament that motorcycling is trying to appeal to more and more people every year by having available safety gear beyond armor and leather. I would definitely consider one of the vests for when I commute, but not in the summer here!

the air bags, like those used in car air bags, are probly designed to deflate upon impact, the idea being that by doing a controlled deflation, they would absorb and dissipate some of the impact energy
less impact energy = less damages to your body
