I recently removed the left hand fairing and the bottom bolt seems to be attached to a l shaped bracket which should in turn attach to a lug on the oil sump or oil pan whichever you want to call it. Problem is that lug seems to have sheared off so it is not actually connnected to anything. Anyone else had this problem and if so what did you do to fix it?
    Thanks in advance

I know the bracket you mean and it caused me problems too. IIRC one of the drain hoses from the expansion tank is also routed though it so it serves a dual purpose. I can't remember how it fixes to the bike itself. Can you remind me how it fixes to the bike? You mention a lug, but is it welded or bolted do you know? I know mine was a pig to secure and I did consider leaving that fixing off. Since it's already fixed to the other side via the front facing black section, and above by another fixing onto the frame I didn't think there was a lot of room for movement if that bottom one was left off.

The bracket is fitted to a lug on the oil sump/pan but this lug is no longer there.
