Friend is going to look At a 2003 VFR later today. Are they fuel injected? Do they have reg/rec issues like earlier models. Anything to look for before buying.

    As always, Thanks

Yes an yes. Was the recall taken care of?
    The usual list....
    Last time fluids changed.
    How old are the tires.
    Chain and sprockets ever changed.
    Maintenance records!!!!
    How old is the battery.
    Ever dropped or crashed.
Does all the bodywork line up at the seams.
Brake pads ever changed. Okay I'm done.
Oh and have him bring along an experienced motorcyclist to look as well, two sets of eye's are a plus.

All VFR800s are fuel injected. The prior 750 was carbureted.

It is unclear if you have inspected many bikes and are just asking about a VFR or if your question is open-ended.

Regarding the regulator: Diligently test the charging system. Battery, charge at idle, charge at 5000 rpm.

There is a lot to add. This url is another forum but it is fresh in my mind. See the post in the thread by Zupatun for many of the checks for any motorcycle inspection:
