Im really leaning toward the vfr800f and have seriously been looking at an akrapovic megaphone modded to fit the bike to show off the single sided swing arm. I swear that is the biggest sin of a stock exhaust I've ever seen on a bike to cover up that much of such an attractive component. I quite frankly cant believe there aren't any shorty exhausts on the market yet. The only difficulty is clearing the centerstand but that seems like a nominal feet. That being said has anyone previously tried something like this on a gen8?

    AKRAPOVIC EXHAUST.jpg

Removed stock exhaust, attempted to weigh it, but the scale I used wasn't that great, I would say roughly around 11-12 lbs (5-5.4 kg) give or take. may be less? I added an AKRAPOVIC Exhaust, Air Baffle removed and this thing sounds mean as hell. With the baffle in it is toned down quit a bit, but wow when its out.

    Mine with new carbon can...

In answer to codyc123's question earlier, the standard can/link pipe assembly when i removed it weighed 4.96 kilograms which I reckon is just under 11 lbs. The Scorpion carbon can with link pipe and baffle in was a fraction under 2 kilograms.

I'm thinking Akropovic... But can't make up my mind. I just want a little better sound, but not even close to obnoxious (I leave a culdesac before 6 AM most days). If I get some extra performance, fine, but I don't want to give up low end torque for some high end HP that I'll rarely use. And I don't want any hassle with my OEM cases.
