    Hey all,
    Just thought I'd drop in... I currently ride a 05 600rr. I'm thinking about setting it up for permenant track/race duty and picking up a 5ht or 6th gen VFR. From the sounds of things the VFR can do it all... I've slowed down quite a bit in the twisties since I was bit by the track bug two years ago. I'm not quite ready for something as big as and ST. It's starting to sound like the VFR would be the perfect bike to roll out for Arkansas or The Gap on a Friday, ride twisties Sat. and Sun. and roll back on Monday weather it be two up or solo. Looks like you guys have a great site here and I'm down for any info on how capable the VFR really is. Is it going to feel like a brick compared to my 600rr? How comfy is it on long (1000 mile) rides? You get the drift.

    Hey Trap, welcome to the group. I would have no problem going 1K on the 93 I had. One might opt for an aftermarket seat, but the factory one will get the job done. Last year I went to the Fall VFRD Dragon meet and I know I put about 1K on it total over the weekend with no troubles at all.

    Yes it will fill like a tank in comparison. But, that heaviness will translate to a stability you will never experience on the 600. It will be able to cut up the corners better than any other sport tourer but with more comfort than any 600 pure sports bike. It's not gonna out run any liter bike or prob any super sport 600 but it is the best compromise somewhere in between. Haven't done 1000 miles in a day, but have done 3, 200+ mile days and felt fine afterwards. I do have a sargent seat which helps and heli bars which are up and back a bit from stock. Bonus: it'll sound like nothing else out there if you have after-market pipes. Give one a test ride and see. ( I ride a 5g, but we have staunch 4g and 6g riders also.) They are all great bikes.

    I made the same swap a few years back, only I ditched my CBR 6 for good when I picked up my new red Viffer. After logging more than 20 K miles in the last year and a half, I've never regretted the move once.

    Hope you enjoy your ride (whatever you decide on)...
