Was looking to buy a Haynes Service Manual for my 6 Gen. The only thing I could find was one for 2002 - 2005. Now being I have an '06 it should not matter, correct? All 6 Gen are the same? Not sure if there are little diferences in the wiring or whatever. Anyone have any insight?
Hi there, The Honda Service Manual for the 2002 VFR is available here on this site. From what I understand the 6th Gen has changed very little, either way it seems to be the latest manual available and here it is for free! Maybe another poster can shed more light. http://vfrworld.com/forums/parts-service-manuals/3161-downloadable-parts-catalogs-service-manuals.html
Yes, the service manuals for the 02-09 VFR's are virtually identical. If you purchase the "official" Helm's manual, it's the same as the 02 and they also give you the updated pages of the manual. There are only small changes between the model years. The 02 manual will cover 99.9% of your 06.
As an addition to what RWB25 has already stated, the "updated pages" are page-size labels that the user is supposed to insert in the proper positions in the manual, by covering up what is already there. Most of them have to do with things like fuel system or vacuum hose routing, etc. There are some additional electrical schematics, also, but nothing mechanically earth-shattering.
Well, in a round about, twisted way, that was my point as well. You don't need to purchase it. You can download the 02 manual from here and it will cover 99.9% of the 06 VFR.
I didn't know Icould download it here for free. I guess thats what I'll be doing. Thanks for everyones input. Its much appreciated.
A few minor differences, I have scanned the wiring diagram from the supplemental packet that I got with my '07 service manual. You can download it here: (30Mb .bmp, partially color coded) VFR_SchemX3.bmp
i sell you my Hayes 2002-2009 manual for $30 incl shipping. Send me a private message if you are interested
Kinda steep. I am sure I paid less than that brand new a few years back .Good for you if you get it. Beware though, this thread is 6 years old. The complete Honda Service manual used to be available for a free down load here as well as over at VFRD.
I have tried to use the PDFs and have much gratitude for those of you who provided them, but this is one of those instances where I need the paper book. The PC is great for reading news and dreaming of a second motorcycle from Craigslist, but when I am learning something technical, I somehow need the actual paper in my hands. I was unable to mentally handle looking things up on the computer and just ordered these from ebay: *Factory Service Manual with corrections *Dealer Setup Instructions *Owner's manual The total cost is something like $84. The dealer setup was just something I found available and I am curious if it offers any additional insight on the bike.
