Your high, ever see Rush (18 times) or Yes(12)? Yah all this devil screaming like blood for your valentine. ..its the common crap thats out now. Glad I grew up when rock n roll was REAL music.

Any Satriani is magic. Seen him probably 10 times, he is an alien. Getting very close to Jeff Beck.

Green Onions is an awesome song, especially Roy Buchanan's version. There was a reason Jeff Beck dedicated So we ended as lovers to Roy. He was amazing too.

Lee and Anderson did not appeal to a lot of people but I liked them both and saw Rush 2 times and Yes 4 times. Having Neil Pert was like cheating though, ,he is the best drummer ever IMO. Yes had Steve Howe (he has to have some of the longest fingers short of Shaq's) and Chris Squire on bass was amazing.

Old school rock and roll thread mostly. Nice.

Okay it seems we are in desperate need of a cool lesson. One of the coolest rock performances I have ever seen:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R861Dw30_Ds

1) The original makeup'd rocker, and an awesome guitarist, Zal Cleminson

2) Feet up on the monitors

3) I suspect Alex is yelling extra loud because everyone is stoned and he is trying to get their attention

3) Originality of the song

4) See and hear everything here? Copied by KISS and AC/DC. The best of these Alex Harvey died too early of a heart attack, and left us with the copycats. :(

SAHB came out in 72 and KISS in 73. Looks like Gene Simmons almost directly copied Zal. Never was a Kiss fan. At least Zal actually played well, Kiss.... not so much. If he had a long tongue like Simmons the group would have surpassed Kiss I think.

As with many things, this is subjective, but to me this is one of the coolest songs of all time. I first heard this song about 25 years ago and it instantly became one of my favorites, it still is today! The more modern live version is even better than the original three and a half minute version. Here is a live version I found on Youtube, enjoy!

My brightest star's my inner light, let it guide me
Experience and innocence bleed inside me
Hallucinogens can open me or untie me
I drift in inner space, free of time
I find a higher state of grace in my mind

I'm beautiful, I wasn't born to follow
I live just for today, don't care about tomorrow
What I've got in my head you can't buy, steal or borrow
I believe in live and let live
I believe you get what you give

I've glimpsed, I have tasted fantastical places
My soul's an oasis, higher than the sun
I'm higher than the sun
I'm higher than the sun

Wow, I've never met anyone else who even knew the band Primal Scream much less this song. I have the CD of remixes too. The original disc is a fantastic CD.
