Clutch fluid flushed and master cylinder cleaned up of brown slime. Wow the clutch works again! Next year the master cylinder is getting rebuilt on my '99.

Just finished installing new tires. I paid too much for the set, it better be worth it.
For those with the 4's, what pressure are you running?

I run the stock pressure, 36 psi front and 42 psi rear. Works great. I ran lower pressuree on the track, but I don't know if it gave me any more grip. Michelin would only tell me to run the pressure on the bike's sticker, even on the track. Did you know that they grip to 47° lean angle? They were quick to also tell me that if I'm riding hard enough to need that much lean angle, I would be better or with a more track oriented tire, but they felt great at the track, even scraping boot and push. Right to the edge of the tire.

    Good rubbers!

Thanks Lint. What kind of mileage are you getting out of them if you've used before?

My last set of PR3 I got about 10k out of the rear, and at least 12k out of the front. Hard acceleration, braking, canyons, commute and just regular riding. This set of PR4 had about 80 miles track time on them, and that brutalized the sides, but they are still holding up surprisingly well. I'm about 5k on them right now, maybe more. They are supposed to last longer than the 3s, so maybe that will balance out the tread left behind on the track.

Nice! I haven't checked, so I'm not sure what mileage I got out of the 3's.

Just did not find the zen to take the rear axle apart to change out a rear brake rotor befor work today. So I took off the front sprocket cover and clean off all the grit that's all on my chain wax. Even got the clutch salve a good cleaning. Now my clutch dont quite slip anymore.
Road the bike into work. Next pick... 40000 miles!

I think ,I fixed my idle problem, after two trys-the idle stop adj screw-7mm nut. It now adj to idle at 1500 a bit more than stock 1200. This might be the perfect setting. Next oil change, I work slow but careful to try and get things too work right ,This is not easy but fun to try and get things too work really well.:peace:

Put in a little work today...

S3 Performance and DRC Edge 2 taillight install:

    taillight3.jpg

The DRC light mounts up to the stock mount, the S3 Requires a little extra work. Because the stock taillight only uses two wires, I had to crimp new bullet connectors onto the bare wires and sister them up with a 2 to 1 bullet connector. Started by drilling a second hole for the second set of wires and installing a grommet. Used some bigger clamps in the stock locations to clean it up.

    Taillight1.jpg

Installed the new bullet connectors and got the two lights sistered up. Not using the brake light wiring right now because I still have to fab the harness for the brake lights, turn signals and horn

    Pigtail2.jpg

    Pigtail1.jpg

Need to get some 16 ga grey and black wire to make the final pigtail that plugs into the stock harness. Some other time...

Installed an HID kit into the stock headlight shell. Drilled and tapped the ballast to accept 3 M4 ti button heads. Used industrial velcro the mount the ingniter to the back of the ballast and cleaned it all up.

    HIDBack.jpg

    HIDFront.jpg

    Turned out OK.

Moved on to the radiator overflow catch can. I needed to have a custom mount for the Nihilo carbon can fabbed up. It will mount just inside the right shroud, just off the edge of the radiator. I used longer bolts through the stock shroud mounting locations and I'm having some ti standoffs machined now to support the mount. Made up a template and shipped it out to Carbonpartz to have it fabricated.

The 2 white triangle pieces are only for the fabricator so that they get the angle of the bend right....they won't be present in the final piece.

    Nihilo.jpg

    RadCatchCanMount.jpg

I'm using ProBolt ti bolts, nuts and washers to bring the mounting bolts, stand offs, and mount together. Ordered some OEM Honda stick on frame rubbers to isolate the bottle from the mount and will use zip ties to hold the bottle to the mount.

Moved on to the crankcase and valve cover breather catch can. The stock breather vented into the airbox which is a shitty idea imo....they tend to make an oily mess. I decided to have a breather catch can fabbed up so that I didn't have to deal with the mess. Made up a model of the catch can from light cardboard

    CatchCan1A.jpg

    CatchCan1B.jpg

Mocked it up to check the fit and all was good.

    CatchCan1C.jpg

The catch can will be fabricated from 1/8" aluminum and have a 5/16" weld on hose barb on the top left that will have a K&N mini breather attached to it. The right side will get 3, 5/16" weld on hose barbs for the three breather hoses. On the bottom left there will be an M6 x 1.00 weld on bung with an M6 x 1.00 x 10 ti bolt and a copper washer to seal it. This will make it easy to drain. All of the standard available cans obstruct the dipstick.....which I thought was lame, I made sure that the dipstick could be used without taking the can off.

Still waiting on the rear wheel from Dubya...they said 3 weeks and now it's almost 5, hahahahahahaha. Should know something Tuesday.

The new GoldFren radial caliper shipped from Europe last wee and should arrive this coming week, if things go good.

Mark Schoeler from Carbonpartz.com just sent over a pic.....he is already all over it. This is his template for the process. He has suggested that Kydex would be a better material than carbon fiber, due to better heat and chemical resistance properties. I'm getting anxious to see the final product.....this guy does great work.
