Experienced some intermittent knock / vibration on left footpeg and discovered that the front sprocket is well past the limit.

Bought the bike for £1000 about 2 months ago. Rear sprocket looks ok. Worn but ok. I will get a pic done. Just been looking through the history of the bike maintenance. Looks like the chain was last replaced 22k miles ago. No mention of when sprocket were last changed.

New sprocket and chain set will be on within the week.

New chain sprocket kit will be on the bike Friday. All booked in with Pulmers in Hemel.

Phoned around and the average price was £200 to £240.

Loved that picture of the front sprocket!

Ahh you live and you learn. Didn't leave you stranded, so you definitely got you're money's worth.

Worn, but I'm sure it would last for a little while.......
However it wil "eat" the new front-sprocket faster.....

I'm sure you won't regret you're choice to replace it all.....

Drama at the bike shop. They are unable to free up the chain adjuster..... Therefore unable to complete the job. Have been told they have used penetrating fluid with no luck. They are now going to take the wheel off so need to take exhaust off so they can have a different approach. How am I going to get home????

Ack, that new chain laying on that dirty work table/lift. That's the kind of stuff that drives me crazy about someone else working on my bike.

Don't worry....on the road it gets much more dirty.
That's why it needs cleaned and lubricated frequently
