Before installing the Scott's filter I used Honda filters and semi-synthetic Golden Spectro. At the time there were several Honda dealers in or near the Seattle area. All of them had different prices on the same filter for my bike. From that point I bought on line, buying six at a time. Crunching the numbers some, had I put the Scott's filter on from the git-go I would have amortized the cost in aboot two years.

Come Summer of 2016 the mach 1 91 will be 25 years old.

Yep, got it brand new. It was a demo model had a couple of hundred miles on it, The dealer had swapped the stock can for a Yoshimura. Another farkle that is just fine.. 70 K on the mach 1.

That's miles.. I do the math on a calculator. You guys up there still use barleycorns to measure stuff , I hear..;)

The mileage would be more but I have three other bikes that are riders.

You know you are Canadian when you measure distance in time.

"How far is it from Vancouver to Calgary?"
"Oh! About 1o and a half hours."

"Lets go for a beer. Pub's only a five minute walk."

    "Where you from?"
Winnipeg. Its an overnighter. 24 hours driving time."

that's very inaccurate, what does the average speed Canadian's ride at? Don't you need distance and speed to figure out traveling time. I would guess Canadians do have to go far to get any where. I go cook a Cod fish.:guitar:

I have used K&N on my CBR track bike because its easy to safety wire them with the nut and pre drilled hole. No problems. BUT I just replaced a K&N on the VFR and it was leaking. I had several K&N's and put another on but I think I will contact K&N about this.

And you have done this trip how many times? Dozens I assume?

Chilliwack to Calgary with wife and kids, only slightly pushing the speed limit was 10 hours. Vancouver is an hour from Chilliwack.

I have driven Chilliwack to Winnipeg a couple times in 22 hours with two breaks of an hour or less (Lunch on Calgary and a after midnight breakfast in Regina). Straight through, hard driving, adventurous in the speed, but it can be done without too much difficulty.

I "try" not to comment in "a matter of fact way" on something I know fuck all about. You kinda remind me of pea soup. Really thick.

Yea, BB I remember you telling me about the Scotts back when I posted about my experience with the K&N crap filter I had. (It split at the seam first then leaked at the nut on the second filter). I have not pulled the trigger on the scotts since it would take me quite a while to amortize a $100 filter. Poor girl, I really need to ride her more.......

Pix are on my hard drive and on KC25
in acid free containers. I will trade you a couple of those dressed oot kitties that are grille ready for pix. I also have a few 4X6" machine prints that you can have. Post up your snail mail addy and I will get them to you.

If you could be more specific I can be of more help. The SR has been painted five times, the R100 three times and the VFR twice not including the wheels and the lower fairing parts. You need to promise not to ask any questions about my bikes since your understanding is limited and I have just so much time.

I need to have me white wheels painted gold, could use some floating rotors up front with gold carriers, then I would be really "high-fa-lootin" but I would never be in the same class as the infamous "sow" :loco: and I am really a silver person, but gold just works with white/blue etc...Its all good in the neighborhood

I've used K&N filters for years on my 2007 Interceptor, my RC 51, my 500 Interceptor, and my 2014 FJR. Never had a problem.

I appreciate all the comments though and will be watching closely for any sign of leaks.

Some Florida dudes have gators to take care of those feral cats. The gators are a little hard to leash train but they develop a taste for cat right away.

Ever been to the island of Hispaniola? On the DR side a cat sighting is rare. Because they eat them rare there.
