This is a heart on the sleeve sale, I don't really need or want to sell this bike, but if someone comes along with the desire to extend its life I'm willing to let it go. It certainly does need a little TLC.

I'm listing this bike as spares or repairs up until the MOT expiry on August 5th 2015, that way you can ride it home before you start the repairs. The only reason for listing as spares or repairs is that I am told it will not go through another MOT without a proper fix on the exhaust. It is otherwise running reliably. If I don't get what I want for it by MOT expiry I will rethink about what to do with it.

This bike has been absolutely amazing for my daily 22mile commute each way for a year. I love it's smooth and progressive power, it is the most comfortable bike I have ever ridden. I can see why it is one of the most popular sports tourers out there. It's also relatively agile in traffic for its size. The ride is smooth, stable and never has it lost grip. Whatever the weather it has never let me down. The only reason I'm putting it up for sale is that I will be using a car for my winter commute (pressure from family to be responsible).

    Good bits:
    Exceptionally reliable commuter
Very comfortable and well planted ride
Starts first time on the button every morning
Good tyres (rear done less than a 2000m)
    No fluid leaks
    Fork seals good
    Chain and sprockets serviceable
    Two keys

    Bad bits:
    Cosmetically tatty
VTec is non-operative (error code 27)
    Cam chain tensioners need adjusting
Exhaust needs replacing or welding to get through MOT

Please feel free to come and see the bike, I'd recommend it before you commit. I'm in Bristol, UK.

To be responsible, I will only allow a test ride with the agreed price paid in full and proof of applicable insurance; "you bin it you buy it".

Please PM me to arrange viewings etc. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1434085980.800978.jpg

I assume that you meant OBO not ONO, unless you're Hawaiian! That being said, this should go in the classified section.

    Cheers

    I'm with Alaskan.

2002 is when the VTEC was first offered, so appears your title is a bit off saying its a 2001 VTEC.

It's the first of the V-Tec models, first registered in the UK end of 2001.

    ONO = or nearest offer

U.S. and England, separated by a common language! ONO in Hawaii = Delicious, tasty, savory. OBO on the mainland (as the Islanders call it) = Or Best Offer. In terms of the 2001 vs 2002, the tag on the side of the bike with the VIN number is what we use to determine the model year. Either way, probably best to place this in the classified section if you haven't already.

    Cheers

Blimey! On this side of the pond we say that the 2002 model year was the first for the 6th Generation.

There's a couple of things I would probably take off your hands but I think shipping would be cost prohibited. Good Luck with your sale.
