    Hi everyone!

I'm the tron, real name Gaetan, 30 years old, from bordeaux, france.
I don't have a vfr yet, but i'm planning to.
I have found, years ago, pics of this sbk vfr:

    vfr supabike.jpg

    i fell in love...

that's about two years now that i fancy doing road and track racing with my friends, pissed of of having to wait for my friends in the paddock, seeing them enjoying the races...

So, i'm planning to buy a vfr 1° or 2° generation and build a sbk replica to go play with them.

    and...
    that's pretty much it!

Welcome to The World Gaeton! Good job posting a pic on intro post, although it's not actually your bike, but when you do get yours make sure you take pictures and post them up!

I'm sure the'll be plenty of others to come along and tell you to pick up a super sport of a different type if you plan on taking it to the track, but ultimately it's your money and your ride but just be aware that keeping up with your friends might be a tough job, especially if they have more current rides.

Personally I'd like to see how your replica turns out and I hope it's worth the effort you'll be putting into it.

    Cheers!

Hello the tron. Welcome. I love your project and look forward to reading about it. I think it is fine that you posted a "hello" in this thread, and if you want you can always start your project thread under the 1st or 2nd generation area. I am, however, glad that you posted here so that I know about this project.

If you have any extra Bordeaux wine please send it to me: Knight, Ohio, USA.

    thx everyone.
@OOTV: no worries, my friends use to race with laverda, ducati, suz 1100gsx, even guzzi. this is just for fun, you know. no power fighting, no "who's got the biggest" show either. only fun. anf loads of beers as well.
i use to ride old pieces of crap on the roads, and i'm not too fond of new bikes actually, so riding a 1° gen vfr is grant for me. and i don't give a heck 'bout what people think. (french arrogance? ;D)
if you don't mind, here are my daily rides:

    cb500.jpg

1998 honda 500 cb, crashed it on irish roads, was wrecked. my boss gave me the fork, swingarm and some more stuffs for me to be able to come back to france.

    photo(1).JPG

1979 guzzi 1000 sp, modified because i wanted it this way.

    cheers!!!

Back on the forum after some times looking for the vfr.

i've change my mind, i'm gonna do another type of project. still a sbk replica but based on a vf750 interceptor, but with a vfr 750 rc24 engine in it.
    why?
    only for the challenge... :smug:

so i bought for nothing a rc15 frame on a side and some bits of a rc24 (mostly engine, wiring loom...) on the other.
winter is arriving in France, so i'll have time to work in the shed!!!
