Is there a reference or catalog for OEM accessories that were offered for non-current models such as my fifth generation VFR? Did Honda have some cool tassels for the handlebar or maybe a little bell?

I was not provided a rear cowl and I have mixed feelings about picking one up as it is only for show. I am not interested in luggage plus it seems the consensus is the OEM luggage is too overpriced. I do not like wearing logos so I do not have any interest in jackets or clothing. What else is there?

Also I see some dealer assembly instructions on ebay. Does the assembly manual have any original insight into my bike?

Look at the parent discussion description. That is where I got it from and thus reiterated an existing joke.

I would visit your local Honda Dealer. I am the Internet Manager at one here in TX. Our parts inventory system (Lightspeed) can see inventory of other dealers. It may be worth a shot?

Can you browse Lightspeed by specific vehicles (year/model)? The issue is that I do not know what was available at the time so I would need the system to list the accessories for me.

My dealer does not make me feel welcome. Maybe they are just tired from their long days, but even when spending good money on far-overpriced items, I feel like I am dealing with the Soup Nazi. I would not feel comfortable walking in and asking them what is available for my bike.

    "No parts for you!"....:p

I would look up the part numbers. This way they don't have to. I would also go to a different dealer.

There is one Honda dealer in our metro region!

Re: Look up the parts: Web sites like hondapartshouse have all of the bike mechanicals and are a great reference. But my first point, where is there a reference for accessories offered at the time? Unless there really were not any accessories.

That's a tough choice then. Anyway, I don't think there were any accessories. The rear cowl may have been an option at time of purchase, not sure though.

Ah now the magic question do I buy the rear cowl? Not for me but for future owners? It is like $150.

Future owners? Why would you hurt her feelings like that?...;)

I prefer the look of the cowl and was very happy it came with it.
