I was serious. Go to one of the Harley botiques. They well sell you everything you want whether it works or not.

Since the dudes here are making an attempt to educate you on some of the basics of gearing, not only for VFRs, you can whupass on them by cutting and pasting leaving oot the important shit that tells the tale.

    Welcome to the site.

But unless you just turned 18, the trust fund is now in your name and you got a shitload of money to throw at the VFR, you got the wrong bike.

The comments here are mostly with concern for your safety and to dampen the enthusiasm of your age. Most of us are older and don't care about the VFR as a competitive sport bike. But your question as a technical challenge is fun.
So I'd guess you know that the speedometer on the VFR with standard sprockets is not accurate. (We don't know if your bike is standard. Is the rear sprocket 43 teeth? If you don't know go look on the side of the sprocket. It should have a '43' stamped on it.) Some folks would say the bike overstates the speed by around 10%. I'd guess more like 8%. If the speedometer showed 160, the bike was going less than 150. The standard set up is power constrained so unless you are producing more Hp you won't reach max RPM in 6th gear unless you are going down hill or with a good wind at your back.
Your top speed may actually be reached in 5th gear.
A number of folks enjoy having a deeper ratio (use a 16/45 combination) for better street performance without sacrificing top speed. Top speed will be in 6th gear with this combo... This may be your best bet if you are looking for the sportier ride. It will also distort the speedometer reading more but you may also not mind that. (That's another LOL)

    Just my 2 cents.

If this dudes scooter really does 160 and has more, dude won't have the scooter long. Some lucky other dude will buy it from impound for twenty centavos on the peso.

    Go here & study ...

You got a timing slip showing that 160, or a ticket based on radar? :heh: ... and I assume the jacket is to go along with the gloves, pants, and boots (helmet assumed) you already wear? ... ...

Actually the problem is when you do this setup you'll get sluggish acceleration but higher top speed. You can't have it both ways, you can either have really quick acceleration OR really high top speed. Think of it like your mountain bicycle, when you select the highest gears you'll be able to go fast but really hard to get up to speed, hence makes for slow acceleration.

I think the OP bailed out on us old farts.

    Squid
An extremely rare animal with a short lifespan. Usually a new sport bike enthusiast with the reasoning of a lunatic, whom you might see thrashing on an R1 wearing sandals, shorts, and a tee.
When found lying motionless on the pavement, this creature transforms itself into a stream of blood, exposed flesh, and broken limbs. Hence the squid moniker.

    Stupid
    Quick
    Underdressed
    Imminently
    Dead

Did you see that guy leave the showroom on the R6? Did you see what he was wearing? What a moron. That Squid.

Wellll.....that would be true in the NORTHERN hemisphere. Here in the SOUTHERN Hemisphere, along with the water going round the other way down the plughole, back-to-front gearing would work. Or something.

    (Dang...I screwed that one up didn't I?)

When I was young i could not go and buy a stock bike with near 200hp. Kids these days can. And the stats show what happens.

LOL!!! I had a 1966 Honda Super-90. What a hoot. It was so slow that our VW bug would beat it from a light.

Shoot, with some proper gearing changes I bet that little puppy could have cracked 200 mph!
